THE PLACE WE BUILT - a new play by Sarah Gancher that marks the 2nd annual production from the Clifford Odets Play Commission - will receive its debut December 11-14 at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre (115 E. 15 St. Lee Strasberg Way) in Manhattan. The play is presented by the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and the Lee Strasberg Center in collaboration with NYU Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Department of Drama.

Page 73 Productions - the Off-Broadway company dedicated to producing and developing works by early-career playwrights -- has announced 26 semi-finalists for their 2014 development programs. Page 73's slate of individually-tailored developmental programs for early-career playwrights includes the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, the Interstate 73 writers group, and the Summer Residency at Yale University.

Women's Project Theater, the 36-year-old non-profit company dedicated to producing plays written and directed by women, will present its 2013-2014 season of new plays at New York City Center Stage II, 131 West 55th Street, January 15 to May 4, Julie Crosby, Producing Artistic Director announced.

Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) is now accepting applications for Play Group, a vibrant and eclectic group of emerging writers who gather twice a month at Ars Nova to share new work and get peer feedback. The group offers members the chance to develop their plays with peer support; to be inspired by each other's work; to form collaborative relationships; and to build a strong sense of community within Ars Nova. All emerging playwrights are eligible for membership. If selected, new members will be invited to join for a period of two years beginning in January of 2014.

Forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include plays familiar, rare and new: Shakespeare's Othello, Gorky's Children of the Sun,James Baldwin's The Amen Corner;Marlowe's Edward II, Pirandello's Liola, Eugene O'Neill's Strange Interlude and Georg Kaiser's From Morning to Midnight. The company returns to La MaMa tonight, January 10 to 20 with 'Something's Got Ahold of My Heart,' its newest creation, that wrestles with the yearning, euphoria and eviscerating tragedy of love. Weaving an energetic blend of 70's pastiche, romantic comedy excerpts, dance theater, testimonials, original music and aggressive physicality, it invites its audience into a deeply emotional experience.

Becky Skoff, Manager and Ronit Muszkatblit, Artistic Director of LABA: The National Laboratory for New Jewish Culture at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street) and David Winitsky, Artistic Director of the Jewish Plays Project, will present the upcoming four projects in OPEN: The New Jewish Theater Residency at the 14th Street Y. Selections from these four shows will be performed on June 28th, June 30th and July 1st. Tickets are $18 and are available for purchase at www.jewishplaysproject.org.

The Residency, a unique partnership between a major cross-cultural Jewish center and an innovative young arts venture, will provide space and significant resources to five teams of artists, including four days of study, three weeks of rehearsal, and six workshop presentations open to the public between today, June 23 and July 1.
