BWW Review: GIRLS ONLY-THE SECRET COMEDY OF WOMEN at Starlight Indoor Series
by Sara Brown - Oct 12, 2016

As a woman, I know that we go through a lot of struggles, and I'm not even talking politically. There's the fact that you can be a C cup at one store but a B cup at another, there is a ton of pressure from the media to be thin, and don't even get me started on panty hose. But that's where the women of 'Girls Only-The Secret Comedy of Women' come in.

It's guns, gangsters, flappers, and booze. BULLETS OVER BROADWAY takes the audience back to the 1920's with a rowdy performance that will have you laughing in your seat.

BWW Reviews: THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY at Starlight Theatre

Growing up with fairy tales we are used to a happy ending. In the movie, the guy always gets the girl. But THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY playing at Starlight Theatre changes all of those preconceived notions.

BWW Review: A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN at Theaterleague
by Sara Brown - Mar 23, 2016

I was pretty excited to see this show, I do not usually look anything up about a show if I do not know a whole lot about it; I like to go in completely blind. But a minute into this show I started to panic, I knew nothing about Janis Joplin. I guess I should have known from the title what I was in for, but I expected it to be a play where I would learn about her (a la Jersey Boys style), but this was a rock concert, so I started to feel like I would not be able to do a good job reviewing this show. I mean I'm a 90's baby. The first album I ever bought was a two-disc compilation of Britney Spears and 'N SYNC songs, followed by Spiceworld. So what would I know about a 60's rock and roll singer with a love for the blues?

BWW Review: RHINOCEROS: Collective Psychosis or The People's Choice?
by Nancy Grossman - Mar 5, 2016

The Suffolk University/Boston Playwrights' Theatre co-production of RHINOCEROS, newly adapted by Wesley Savick from Derek Prouse's translation, features a Boston setting, but maintains the themes of Eugene Ionesco's 1959 classic play from the Cold War era. Things being as they are, that sort of feels like the good old days, yet we are reminded that conformity, fascism, and totalitarianism have never gone out of style.
