Based on Bram Stoker's gothic tale of the immortal Transylvanian count and his unexpectedly feisty human prey, this fast-paced, fright-filled adaptation is a Halloween treat that drips with suspense-and even more blood.

ODC/Dance Announces Its 2018-2019 Season

ODC/Dance, San Francisco's internationally recognized contemporary dance company, announces its 48th home season in both traditional theaters and unconventional venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, September 2018 through August 2019. The company continues last season's 'Dance Around Town' initiative, with performances in public parks, churches, city streets, in San Francisco and East Bay venues, as well as in the company's home, ODC Theater. 

The French Institute Alliance Française Announces Courtney Geraghty as New Artistic Director

The French Institute Alliance Française is pleased to announce the appointment of Courtney Geraghty as its new Artistic Director. Geraghty, who has both American and French citizenship, arrives at FIAF following an international career with positions in France, Japan, and Chile. Most recently she served as Cultural Attaché for the French Embassy in Santiago, Chile, curating and commissioning artistic events from a variety of disciplines, while also operating as the South American Performing Arts Liaison across the region. She will begin programming for FIAF in 2019.

Penobscot Theatre Co Opens Season with THE GRADUATE

Penobscot Theatre Company is proud to open its 45th Season with the Maine premiere of The Graduate. Based on the cult-classic novel and the iconic 1967 film, playwright Terry Johnson's stage adaptation is a bitterly hilarious dark comedy, full of rapid-fire dialogue between fascinating and horrifying characters. Performances runSeptember 6-23 at the historic Bangor Opera House.

The New York Butoh Institute and Vangeline Theater present the New York Butoh Institute Festival 2018, a celebration of diversity in butoh featuring 16 artists from Japan, Brazil, Chile, UK, Israel, Italy, Germany, France, Costa Rica, Spain, and the United States. BWW Review: REVELATIONS UNDER A FULL MOON MOON& BY SZALT (DANCE CO.) at The Ford Theatre

I would classify szalt Dance Company as avant-garde, eclectic, modern in approach, sound, philosophy and technique. Though not my specific style of expertise, I was fascinated by the exploration of ideas, body movement and thought processes the dancers expressed. Stephanie Zaletel is the founder of szalt (dance co.), after much experience as a dancer, rehearsal director, teacher and now choreographer. The company was formed in 2015, which purpose it was to examine the feminine psyche, that includes body memory after trauma, reaction to other people's energy and feelings, and letting free haunting memories to be able to move forward.
