A beloved tradition is back for the holidays at Honolulu Theatre for Youth. Christmas Talk Story, a collection of original tales by local authors, returns with a few favorites, a few new works, and enough laughter, live music and joy to warm everyone's hearts for the season.
CHRISTMAS BELLES, a delightful Holiday Comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, is the next offering of the season at Broadway Onstage Live Theatre when it opens on Friday, November 30. Running Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm through December 22, the production will also be offered during two special 2pm Sunday Matinees on Sunday, December 9 and Sunday, December 16.
Twas the Night Before Christmas is the tale of Amos the mouse whose house gets missed by Santa. Twas the Night Before Christmas runs November 23 - December 30 at The Circuit Playhouse.
Next month, Gotham Early Music Scene (GEMS) will partner with Trinity Wall Street Church to present two concerts in Trinity's annual Twelfth Night Festival of Early Music, which runs from Wednesday, December 26, 2012 through Sunday, January 6, 2013.

This holiday season, Tennessee Repertory Theatre will once again present the holiday cult classic and Nashville's newest holiday tradition, A Christmas Story, adapted by Phillip Grecian and based on the motion picture by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark. A Christmas Story runs December 1 - December 22 at TPAC's Johnson Theater (with preview performances November 29 and 30).

The Dutch Apple is swingin' into the holidays with an all new Christmas show, A Swingin' Christmas opening November 15. A Swingin' Christmas is a vivacious show full of all the favorite classic Christmas songs such as Baby Its Cold Outside, The Christmas Song, Here Comes Santa Claus, Away in a Manger and Oh Holy Night. This show even throws in a few twists with Swingin' Nutcracker.
A Christmas Story, The Musical arrives on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. The new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, the musical begins performances November 7 at 7PM. The eight-week limited engagement runs through December 30. Opening night is Monday, November 19.
The Philadelphia Orchestra is gearing up for the holidays, and this season's line-up promises plenty of cheer for people of all ages-from classical music aficionados to traditional holiday music lovers alike. The most wonderful time of the year opens with three Glorious Sound of Christmas concerts, December 20-22; continues with Handel's Messiah, December 23; and concludes with the time-honored tradition of the Orchestra's annual New Year's Eve Concert on December 31, this year conducted by new Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin. Buddy the Elf is bringing the North Pole to Seattle this holiday season when ELF - The Musical takes over The 5th Avenue Theatre. Under the direction of Seattle's theatrical superstar Eric Ankrim (in his 5th Avenue directorial debut), Elf will feature Seattle's singing and dancing wunderkind Matt Owen as Buddy, the iconic Christmas groupie, alongside Broadway's Kendra Kassebaum as his true love, Jovie. Nickelodeon celebrates the holidays with its first full-length stop-motion animated special, It's A SpongeBob Christmas!, premiering on Nickelodeon Sunday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT), following its CBS television premiere (11/23). It's A SpongeBob Christmas! was inspired by the classic Rankin/Bass specials (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town) and the popular SpongeBob song released in 2009, 'Don't Be a Jerk (It's Christmas),'co-written by Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob) and Andy Paley. The half-hour special features John Goodman as Santa Claus.

The producers of A Christmas Story, The Musical have announced that, due to Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, the production has rescheduled the start of performances on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre until Wednesday November 7 at 7PM.
The award winning Arvada Center will open Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical directed by Gavin Mayer on November 27 running through December 23, 2012 in the Main Stage Theater. The musical is based on the story "Miracle on 34th Street" by Valentine Davies; book, music and lyrics were written and composed by Meredith Willson (The Music Man and The Unsinkable Molly Brown). Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Preview performances are November 23 - 25. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, December 7 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, December 12 after 1:00 p.m. show.
