Dialogue with Three Chords(D3C) and BrooklynONE(bkONE) Productions team to present 'The Krampus' from playwright and D3C co-founder Stephen Gracia as part of bkONE's 'Holiday Weekend Experience' series of programming. The original play, directed by D3C co-founder Michael LoPorto, shows the largely unknown side of the Santa Claus mythos. A group of friends bond at a bar on Christmas Eve and exchange stories of their childhood fears of 'The Krampus,' a real figure from Norse mythology who functioned as an evil-twin to the benevolent Saint Nicholas. The darkly funny show also features original music in the form of bawdy holiday carols. The show runs for three performances: Friday, December 13 at 8:30pm and Saturday & Sunday, December 14 and 15 at 8pm at bkONE's home at St. John's, 461 99th Street in Brooklyn, NY. Who could ever forget Liz Callaway stopping the show cold with a simple plaintive Maltby and Shire song called "The Story Goes On" back in 1983 in the Broadway production of BABY? Or, of course, Stephen Sondheim's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG? Or her Grizabella? Or any of the amazing albums she has made over the years, either solo or with her sister Ann Hampton Callaway?

Today, in honor of the holiday-centric winter finale of Season Five of FOX's hit musical dramedy series GLEE, we are checking off the top twelve reasons to celebrate GLEE beneath the Christmas tree this year - complete with shirtless Santas, erotic elves and drunken eggnog debauchery.
I know, it seems like just last week it was mid-April or May around the hallways of McKinley, but now it's suddenly Christmastime and the Gleeks are rockin around the Christmas tree? Oh Glee, we love you, but what even is your time frame? Tonight is the final Glee episode of 2013, and what better way to say peace out to 2013 than with the annual Glee Christmas episode. It's a Merry Gleemas, y'all!
Jane Lynch introduces the episode explaining that this episode was too hot for TV last year and was cut down to be allowed to air on Fox this year. Uh, whatever you say Jane Lynch, but let's not forget how perfect Glee, Actually was, shall we? Flashbacking to Christmas 2012 - the glee club is gearing up for a Christmas decoration contest with Tina at the helm, being as psychotic and ridiculous as usual. Santana has crash landed her sleigh into the Hummel-Berry loft and is celebrating the holidays the best way she knows how - expensive gifts and sarcasm, of course. Back in Lima, the McKinley non-denominational Christmas club is taking to the task of creating a living nativity to replace the defaced nativity outside. Sue challenges Sam and Tina to come up with something good for the decoration contest since she's the judge, and going to be her usual harsh self.
Rachel gets herself, Santana, and Kurt jobs working as elves in a crowded Santaland from hell, where the Santa is not even remotely interested in dealing with his elves and escapes the North Pole for a little time with Jack and Daniel. Being the uber prepared girl she is, Rachel musters up the Christmas spirit with help from Santana and Kurt performing 'Here Comes, Santa Claus', but the performance is anything but a hit as the angry kids begin to throw things and heckle them.

On Tuesday December 3 sublime singer Spider Saloff appeared at Rockwell Table and Stage for an evening of Cool Yule accompanied by electric jazz pianist Richard Eames. I say sublime, as there are a rare few like Saloff who can really sing, wrapping their heart around the lyrics of a song and then delivering it as if they had never told the story before. It takes an actress to sing well, and Saloff has everything it takes. Like Garland, she's one of the best.
