The Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC) heralds Christmas with two matinee performances of its delightful seasonal concert, "Festival of Carols," Saturday, December 7, 2013, 2 pm, and Saturday, December 14, 2013, 2 pm, at Disney Hall. Silent Night, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, White Christmas, Deck the Hall and Santa Claus is Coming to Town are among the cherished holiday carols and traditional favorites setting a joyous mood and sung to glorious perfection by 115 members of the Chorale under Music Director Grant Gershon's baton. Also featured are the world premieres of arrangements by LAMC Swan Family Composer In Residence Shawn Kirchner - the French carol Pat-a-Pan, which he has intricately layered for women's voices and describes as "rhythmic and vibrant," and the Czech Rocking Carol, a lullaby setting for men's voices he calls "tender and soothing." Pianist Lisa Edwards and organist John West, who performs on Disney Hall's iconic pipe organ, add a delightful sonic flourish to the concert.

Lincoln Amphitheatre officials announced they are adding a production to the 2013 season. The Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association, the managing nonprofit for the 1500-seat, Lincoln Amphitheatre, will produce a Christmas themed play in December.

Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) borrows from the film classic Casablanca for their annual holiday extravaganza at Benaroya Hall. In Play it Again, Santa, Santa (not Sam) is at the piano and the out-of-the-way nightclub is much farther north - like at the North Pole! There will be eight Seattle concerts plus two outreach performances in Tacoma and Everett. The Red Herring Productions' choice to stage Stephen Sondheim's ASSASSINS at the Riffe Center Studio One Theater couldn't have been more ironic. Less than a gunshot away from a stoic statue of William McKinley, Leon Czolgosz (played by Jay Rittberger) will assassinate McKinley for seven times between Oct. 31 and Nov. 9 and earn applause for it.

The Fabulous Palms Springs Follies will bring the curtain down on a starried 23 year history in Palm Springs with the final edition of the much ballyhooed song and dance production- this final season, appropriately entitled 'The Last Hurrah!! - opening today, November 1, 2013 with final performances in May, 2014.
