The Sheldon presents The Sheldon Chorale: An American Tapestry, Monday, October 11 at 8 p.m.in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall. The 25-person chorale, directed by Allen Carl Larson, will be accompanied by flutist Jennifer Toro Mazzoni and cellist Bjorn Ranheim. This concert is part of the American Arts Experience-St. Louis.

After wowing international audiences as part of its recent Tour of Asia, The Philadelphia Orchestra returned home to reaffirm its commitment to Philadelphia with the announcement of the 2010 Free Neighborhood Concert Series. Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter joined the Orchestra at a special press conference today to unveil the locations of this summer's three free community performances-Upper Darby Performing Arts Center (Friday, June 18, 7:30 PM), the RiverStage at Penn's Landing (Saturday, July 3, 8:00 PM), and Philadelphia's City Hall (Tuesday, September 21, 7:00 PM).

Offering up greater variety, including more than 50 debuts from Sting to Wagnerian tenor John Treleaven, Ravinia Festival Chairperson Pamela B. Strobel and President and CEO Welz Kauffman today announced details of the 2010 season, including a Chicago Symphony Orchestra residency that celebrates major anniversaries of Mahler, Chopin, Schumann, Barber, Bernstein and Copland, as well as milestone birthdays of Music Director James Conlon, Christoph Eschenbach and Stephen Sondheim. The season, featuring 117 separate events, runs from June 3 through September 7.
