For one night only, the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester played host to Mandy Patinkin: Dress Casual with Paul Ford on Piano

On Friday April 11th and April 18th, 2008 Sheldon Forrest (pianist) and Douglas Cochrane (vocals) will be performing at the The Music Box Room at Broadway Baby Bistro. This is the last in a series of three 'entertainment empire retrospectives' (the first two being the James Bond and the Muppet franchises)--covering seven decades of Disney film music from 1937's 'Snow White' to 2007's 'Enchanted,' featuring songs written by Sammy Cahn, Sammy Fain, Peggy Lee, Roger Miller, Henry Mancini, Randy Newman, Barry Mann, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Elton John, and Phil Collins.

When a cabaret show is promoted as containing 'an eclectic mix of style and sound,' I generally don't expect to hear 8, count 'em 8, Rodgers and Hart classics, but who am I to question Christian Hoff's good taste in music?  Though never officially announced, Hoff was to star in a proposed Broadway revival of Pal Joey, and though that project has been placed on hold, his one-night gig at The Metropolitan Room this past Monday night, titled 'Exiled,' often seemed like a preview of how he'd play the title role.

Pixyish chanteuse Gay Marshall has a wonderful holiday show at the Zipper, Booth Daniels and Patrick Frankfort bring their quirky fun to Don't Tell Mama and John McWhorter sings Cole Porter, Harry Warren and Rodgers & Hart at The Duplex.

The Metropolitan Room (34 West 22 St. between 5th & 6th) announces its upcoming September concert schedule. Guests include Suzanne Carrico, Jimmy James, Penny Fuller, Cary Hoffman and Marilyn Maye.
