Full casting has been announced for SPIKE - the comedy by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman that will be visiting Theatre Royal Brighton from Tuesday 11 to Saturday 15 October 2022 as part of a UK tour.
Ian Hislop and Nick Newman’s new comedy, ‘Spike’, is coming to Darlington Hippodrome with a cast including Gavin and Stacey star Robert Wilfort alongside Mischief Theatre’s Patrick Warner and Jeremy Lloyd.

He will be performing Silent Night with members of The Wipers Times acting company. The arrangement of Silent Night is taken from Aled's new album (with Russell Watson) In Harmony which is released on 9th November. There will be other surprise cameo appearances during the show. The evening will also include an introduction, post-show talk and Q & A with Ian and Nick and an exclusive post-show reception. This special performance coincides with the commemoration of the end of WWI.

Amid the horrors of the First World War, The Wipers Times is the unlikely, but true, story of when two officers found a printing press in the bombed out remains of Ypres (Wipers was the soldier's nickname for the town) and decided to produce a satirical paper to lift the spirits of the men. The paper could not print any details of the war due to censorship and so it concentrated on the absurd side of life in the trenches by lampooning the government, generals and mocking all the conditions of war.
