Jon Cryer Leads SHELTER in Concert Tonight at Feinstein's/54 Below

A new concert presentation of the short-lived musical Shelter is set for Feinstein's/54 Below tonight, June 27th, a 7 and 9:30 p.m.  Sally Ann Triplett (The Last Ship, Finding Neverland) and Jeff Kready (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Billy Elliot, Sunday in the Park With George) will join previously announced two-time Emmy Award-winner Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men).

The Secret City to Stage Gershwin Cabaret in Ira's Former Penthouse for Annual Gala

Obie-Award winning performance group, The Secret City, announces their annual gala. This year's event will be a Gershwin Cabaret held in the penthouse that formerly belonged to Ira Gershwin, next door to the Penthouse lived in by his brother, George. The Gershwin's shared musical output from the early 20th century shaped the course of American popular music and much of their most celebrated work was created in these apartments.

Complete Casting Announced for SHELTER at 54 Below, Starring Jon Cryer

Feinstein's/54 Below is pleased to announce complete casting for their concert presentation of the short-lived musical Shelter. Joining the previously announced two-time Emmy Award-winner Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) are Sally Ann Triplett (The Last Ship, Finding Neverland) as Maud, Alyse Alan Louis (Amelie, Disaster) as Wednesday November, Jeff Kready (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Billy Elliot, Sunday in the Park With George) as Arthur,  Lynne Halliday (Baby, I'm Still Getting My Act Together..., Inventing Mary Martin) as Gloria and Scott Clare as The Voice. The Tuesday, June 27th, 7:00pm and 9:30pm concerts will celebrate Nancy Ford's beautiful score and Gretchen Cryer's fascinating and timely book.

BWW Interview: Rachel Tucker On Her First Solo Tour

Actress and singer Rachel Tucker has impressed in leading musical theatre roles both in the West End and on Broadway, including Wicked, We Will Rock You and The Last Ship. She's also performed in plays such as Alan Ayckbourn's Communicating Doors and released an album. Now, she's embarking on her first solo tour, which travels the UK this summer and also transfers to New York in September.

OTHER WORLD Presents Industry Reading in NYC Featuring Ryan Andes, Max William Bartos, Shonica Gooden and More

An invitation-only reading of the new musical Other World will take place on Thursday, March 9 (2:30pm) and Friday, March 10 (11:00am) at the Lyric Theatre Studios (Lyric Theatre - Studio A, 214 West 43rd Street, NY, NY 10036).  Other World features a book by Hunter Bell, music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and Ann McNamee, and will be directed by Gabriel Barre.

BWW Review: ORPHAN TRAIN at History Theatre

Among the many vital functions of theater are these: to give voice to the voiceless, to tell stories that are lost to time, and to give audiences empathic access to lives they never personally intersect.* Saint Paul's History Theatre scores well on these aims with their remounting of ORPHAN TRAIN, set in 1889, which first premiered as a commission by the theater in 1997.
