Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park Stages THE BOOK CLUB PLAY, Now thru 4/28

THE BOOK CLUB PLAY, a comedy about books and the people who love them, continues the Playhouse's Thompson Shelterhouse Theatre season. This engaging and hilarious play by Karen Zacarias begins previews tonight, March 23 and will continue through April 28.

Ms. Jo Thompson to Play the Cafe Carlyle, 3/21-30

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel will welcome the elegant and sophisticated pianist/singer, Ms. Jo Thompson, for its new 'Second Act, A Late Night Series of Fun and Entertainment' at the Café Carlyle from March 21st-23rd, and March 28th and 30th. MS. Thompson, a timeless, knockout beauty of 80 plus years, plays piano and vamps, purrs and romps her way through jazz and standards from the 1930s through the present, along with her own original material in her new program, 'Slender, Tender and Tall - An Evening With Ms. Jo Thompson'. She will be joined by bassist, Calvin Hill, and drummer, Mike Campenni.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company's legal affinity group, the Bard Association, unveils Expert Witnesses, a new series of interviews with prominent members of the legal community who have bridged the gap to the arts world. Former Senator and television star of Law & Order, Fred Thompson, will inaugurate a sequence of high profile, one-on-one interviews with Bard Association Chair Abbe David Lowell (Chadbourne & Parke LLP). Expert Witnesses will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW).

Bill Thompson's SWELL Exhibition Re-Opens at Margaret Thatcher Projects Today

Margaret Thatcher Projects has announced the re-opening of Swell, Bill Thompson's second solo exhibition at the gallery. The wall sculptures that constitute this exhibition reflect and absorb, shifting and growing as one moves around them. Solid objects not content with being static, their gleaming, pearlescent surfaces absorb the room they inhabit, reflecting back the space in their warped, monochromatic surfaces. The installation, extended through January 12, 2013, provides the viewer a unique, visual experience of mutating form and color as one moves about. The re-opening reception will be held today, December 15, 2012, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Charissa Thompson, Marcellus Wiley to Host SPORTSNATION Beginning in Jan.

ESPN2's quirky afternoon show SportsNation will announce on today's program that it is moving to the west coast and host Charissa Thompson will be joined by new co-host Marcellus Wiley. Wiley replaces Colin Cowherd who will remain in Bristol where he will focus on his nationally syndicated radio show. SportsNation was created in 2009 as a live sports television show born from the Internet, fueled by fan interaction and focused on fun. The show will relocate from ESPN's Bristol campus to a new set at the company's Los Angeles studio at the end of December. Thompson and Wiley will continue the off-beat SportsNation tradition of discussing the day's hottest and weirdest sports topics weekdays at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
