Not since Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize winning The Heidi Chronicles has a play taken on the complexities of the women's liberation movement with such intimacy and acerbic wit.  Custom Made Theatre Company presents Pulitzer Prize finalist Gina Gionfriddo's Rapture, Blister, Burn, November 17 - December 17 at Custom Made's theater at 533 Sutter Street in San Francisco.  Leah Abrams (Sam and Dede, or My Dinner with Andre the Giant) directs.

This December, EXIT Theatre presents the American Premiere of a truly unusual Christmas play by Clive Barker, best-selling author and mastermind behind cult films Hellraiser and Candyman. Stuart Bousel directs Barker's play  about England's greatest monarch, the search for meaning in a godless world, and STDs.

The Dover Quartet will make its recording debut with an all-Mozart program on Cedille Records that both mirrors the first album by its mentors, the Guarneri String Quartet, and includes Guarneri founding violist Michael Tree as guest artist.

Directed by world renowned director/choreographer Arlene Phillips,"27" is an intoxicating modern fable of our time, a dark interpretation of one of humanity's oldest stories. It has music, book and lyrics and is co-directed by Sam Cassidy.

The magic of Venice was in the air at Shakespeare & Company last night.   After a stirring performance of The Merchant of Venice, directed by Tina Packer in the Tina Packer Playhouse, it was cocktails, dinner, and dancing under the stars on the beautiful campus of Shakespeare & Company.   Guests mingled with actors and dignitaries at the annual Gala and BroadwayWorld was there.  The play runs through August 21st. Check out the photos below.

Megan Mullally and Constance Wu have signed on for an episode of Hulu's upcoming sci-fi fantasy anthology scripted series DIMENSION 404.

Alysa Pires Dance Projects presents EXTERMINATING ANGEL, a full-length dance theatre work, at the Al Green Theatre (750 Spadina Ave) as part of Toronto Fringe 2016.

Lea Michele, Robert Buckley and Ryan Lee have signed on for Hulu upcoming six-part sci-fi fantasy anthology series DIMENSION 404.

Inspired by a true story, Six Degrees of Separation follows the trail of a young African-American con man who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy, white New York couple, claiming he is the son of actor Sidney Poitier, and that he has just been mugged and all his money is gone. No subject is left untouched in this comic, fast-paced and affecting piece.  Six Degrees is directed by Stuart Bousel, who directed last season's award-winning Grey Gardens.  Six Degrees of Separation runs May 19-June 18 at Custom Made Theatre, 533 Sutter Street, San Francisco, 94102.

Final casting has been announced for the UK tour of Save the Last Dance for Me. Lola Saunders, a finalist on The X Factor 2014, will make her theatrical debut in the role of Jennifer starring alongside previously announced Antony Costa as Milton, with Wayne Robinson as Curtis and Elizabeth Carter returning to the role of Marie.

This nostalgic, feel-good journey will transport you back to music's golden era as we follow two teenage sisters through the summer of '63. The production will start its UK tour at New Wimbledon Theatre from Tuesday 12 April, coming to the King's Theatre Glasgow from Tuesday 3 until Saturday 7 May.
