Photo Flash: GREAT COMET and HAMILTON Tour Unite at Broadway at W Times Square

Broadway at W Times Square continues to wow audiences and hotel guests with their newly hit concert series featuring Broadway cast members and their respective shows accompanied by acoustic guitar and cajon. On Sunday, Feb. 19th cast members from blockbuster shows Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 and the 1st national tour of Hamilton shared their amazing talents in the raw, up close and intimate setting of W Times Square Hotel.  Special guest host was Hamilton's, and newly announced Josh Groban successor, Okieriete Onaodowan. The 15th anniversary season of The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) (Ty Jones, Producing Artistic Director; David Roberts, Managing Director) continues with CTH's free, summer, uptown production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest, presented in partnership with City Parks Foundation's SummerStage festival. The Carl Cofield-directed production, which stars New York theater and Broadway veteran Ron Cephas Jones, will transform the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park into an enchanted Caribbean island where the magic takes flight, with an elaborate aerial design elements planned. The third annual CTH Under the Stars presentation holds previews tonight, July 3, and Saturday, July 4. Performances, which are free and open to the public, run from July 5 through 26.

Columbia Stages to Present THE SEVEN, 2/12-15

Columbia Stages will present THE SEVEN by Will Power, directed by Carl Cofield. A third-year MFA Director at Columbia University School of the Arts, Cofield has selected this unique and challenging piece to serve as his introduction to the professional New York City theatre community. THE SEVEN will be presented in The Connelly Theater at 220 East 4th Street for five performances only,February 12 - 15, 2014.
