Casting Announced For CHRISTMAS DINNER at the Royal Lyceum

After making a long-awaited return to performing in front of live audiences with the critically acclaimed production Life is a Dream, The Lyceum is excited to be bringing the magic of Christmas back to its stages as the world premiere of Christmas Dinner opens on Wednesday 8 December 2021 - 2 January 2022.

Isobel McArthur’s unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s classic love story was critically acclaimed when it played at Glasgow’s Tron Theatre. Men, money and microphones are fought over in this irreverent but affectionate adaptation, which includes pop classics such as Every Day I Write the Book, Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, I Got You Babe and You’re So Vain.

PRIDE & PREJUDICE* (*SORT OF) Comes to the West End This Fall

Olivier and Tony Award-winning producer David Pugh has announced that he will be presenting the Tron Theatre Glasgow, the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and Blood of the Young's production of Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) by Isobel McArthur after Jane Austen at the Criterion Theatre for an open-ended run.

BWW Review: SOPHIA, Sound Stage

Sophia tells the story of Sophia Jex-Blake, a formidable woman who battled for a woman's right to a medical education and license and who went on to become the first practising female doctor in Scotland. In 1869 Blake applied for admission to the Medical Faculty of the University of Edinburgh, only for her application to be rejected on the grounds that the University could not make the necessary arrangements 'in the interest of one lady'. Poet’s inspiring new play tells the story of Blake’s campaign and the struggles for her and her fellow women to secure the right to a medical education.
