New York Shakespeare Exchange to Present TEN-FACED HAMLET

New York Shakespeare Exchange, the company that popularizes Shakespeare with innovative programs like The Sonnet Project and the ShakesBEER Pub Crawls, presents a boldly inclusive 'Hamlet.' Running from Wednesday March 23 through Saturday April 9, at the Flamboyan Theater, 107 Suffolk Street, Shakespeare Exchange's 'Hamlet10' will be brought to life by uniquely diverse ensemble of just 10 actors who will play all the roles in the play, including, by turns, the role of the tragic Danish prince. These ten faces of Hamlet (five female and five male) will stress how aspects of Hamlet reside in us all.

Offering a first look at the year ahead in independent film, culture and new ideas, Sundance Institute announced today the 65 films selected for the U.S. Competition, World Competition and out-of-competition NEXT category set to premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, January 21-31 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Films that have premiered in these sections include Beasts of the Southern Wild, Fruitvale Station,Whiplash, Blackfish, The September Issue, The Cove, An Education, Animal Kingdom, Precious, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Obvious Child, Tangerine and Escape from Tomorrow.

The sonnet was filmed on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge between Brooklyn and Staten Island.

August's ShakesBEER takes place in Hell's Kitchen today, August 9 and Today, August 16. The event kicks off at Mercury Bar (659 9th Avenue between 45th & 46th Streets) before moving on to three more bars still to be announced. Admission is $45, which includes four drink tickets redeemable for beer, wine and select cocktails at the participating bars. Check-in begins at 2:30 PM at Mercury Bar for the 3 PM kick off.
