2019 Bentonville Film Festival Announces Gala Selections, Competition Films

The Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) today announced its film line up of gala selections and competition films with Joey Travolta's CAROL OF THE BELLS, and Haroula Rose's ONCE UPON A RIVER making their world premieres as Centerpiece Screening Selections. BFF will kick off with a screening of Tom Donahue's documentary THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING and a special presentation of the festival's signature event, Geena and Friends. Taking place May 7-11 in Bentonville, Arkansas, BFF is a one of a kind annual event that will celebrate 5-years of elevating diverse voices in all facets entertainment and media in partnership with founding sponsor Walmart and presenting sponsor Coca-Cola.

Inna Faliks Performs World Premiere By Richard Danielpour At The Wallis

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents Inna Faliks, piano, one of the most "adventurous and passionate" (The New Yorker) artists of her generation, performing a world premiere by Richard Danielpour and works by Rodion Shchedrin, Schumann and Chopin in her Wallis debut on Sunday, May 12, 2019, 7 pm, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater. The Ukrainian-born American pianist gives the world premiere of Iranian-American composer Danielpour's Eleven Bagatelles for Piano, Shchedrin's Basso Ostinato, Chopin's Polonaise-Fantasie, Op 61, and Schumann's Symphonic Etudes, Op 13, with posthumous variations. Faliks, Head of Piano at UCLA, performs on leading stages around the globe, garnering acclaim for her musical "poetry and panoramic vision" (The Washington Post) and "riveting passion" (The Baltimore Sun). Grammy winner Danielpour is "an outstanding composer" (New York Daily News) and one of the most recorded composers of his generation with a list of commissions from Yo-Yo Ma, Jessye Norman, Dawn Upshaw, Emanuel Ax, the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Guarneri and Emerson string quartets, among many others. Like Faliks, he also teaches at UCLA, as Co-Area Head, Composition.

John Digweed Announces 'Last Night at Output' 6xCD Compilation Album

Underground visionary John Digweed continues his acclaimed 'Live In…' mix compilation series with 'Last Night at Output,' commemorating the ultimate closing set at the Brooklyn clubbing institution. Recorded live on New Year's Eve 2018, fans of John Digweed, underground dance music, the club, and those who were in attendance can now celebrate this night in dance music history with this special musical memento and collector's item. Featuring over 70 tracks played throughout the 10-hour set, the album will include tracks from Âme, Agoria, Cassy, Claude VonStoke, Dixon, François K, Hot Since 82, John Digweed, Laurent Garner, OXIA, Steve Bug, The Drifter, and many more. Out on Bedrock Records on May 3, 2019, the compilation album will be released in a limited edition 6xCD box set, 4-set vinyl package, and for the ultimate dance music collectors, an extremely limited signed and numbered vinyl release will be available, pre-orders are available now.

GLSEN To Honor Brendon Urie at 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards

GLSEN, the leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools for LGBTQ youth, announced today that it will honor Brendon Urie, front man of the band Panic! at the Disco, with the Inspiration Award for his ongoing commitment to LGBTQ youth and for investing in the power of students to create more inclusive schools. Urie will be presented with the Inspiration Award at the upcoming 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards – New York, on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Known for her portrayal of Nina Rosario in Broadway's Tony-winning In the Heights, Mandy Gonzalezbrings her impressive talents to the intimate cabaret setting with Fearless. In addition to her role in Hamilton, Gonzalez's previous credits include playing Elphaba in Wicked, Princess Amneris in Aida, and multiple roles in Lennon. She's also made appearances on television (Madam Secretary) and the big screen (Julie Taymor's Across the Universe).

Performance Schedule Announced For 7th Annual In Scena! Italian Theater Festival

The New York based Kairos Italy Theater and the Italy-based KIT Italia will present the seventh annual In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, a festival of Italian theater taking place in all five boroughs of NYC, April 29-May 13. Participating venues will include The Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance (BAAD! - 2474 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461), Goddard Riverside's Bernie Wohl Center (647 Columbus Avenue, New York, NY 10024), The Brick Theater (579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211), Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo at NYU (24 West 12th Street, New York, NY 10011), Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, New York, NY 10014), College of Staten Island (2800 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314), Italian Cultural Institute (686 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10021), La Scuola Guglielmo Marconi (406 East 67th St, New York, NY 10065), St. John's Lutheran Church (81 Christopher Street, New York, NY 10014), and TheaterLab (357 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018), with more venues TBA. KILLING TIME Makes US Premiere At Brits Off Broadway At 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled welcome the US premiere of KILLING TIME written by Zoe Mills and directed by Antony Eden. Produced by Word Mills and Dead Letter Perfect in association with the Stephen Joseph Theatre, KILLING TIME begins performances on Thursday, April 18 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 12. Press Opening is Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Friday at 7:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM; and Sunday at 2:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison).
