CELTIC THUNDER to Play Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie, 11/23

World-renowned Irish super-group Celtic Thunder performs MYTHOLOGY live at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie on Saturday, November 23, as part of their Fall 2013 62-city Canada and USA Tour. Released February 19th of this year the 7th Celtic Thunder CD debuted at #1 on Billboard's World Music Chart and is the group's 8th release to hit the #1 spot. Both CD and DVD continue to dominate the charts weeks after release. All six male soloists-twice named Billboard's Top World Music Artist-Emmet Cahill, Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, George Donaldson, Neil Byrne and Colm Keegan--perform both solo and ensemble numbers. They are known for performing an eclectic mix of songs, ranging from traditional Irish fare to international hits such as 'The Boys are Back in Town' and 'The Sound of Silence,' as well as original compositions including "Voices" and "Hunter's Moon." In addition to the six main vocalists, the tour will also feature strings, guitars, percussion, whistles, pipes and more in the eight-piece Celtic Thunder band. The tour's musical director is David Munro, who also plays keyboards in the show.

All Nite Soul begins tonight, October 13 at 5 PM with Jazz Vespersand vocalist Catherine Russell honoring Carline Ray (bassist and vocalist), and goes intofull swing at 7 PM with a concert of over 80 musicians honoring Barry Harris (pianist) and Sheila Jordan (vocalist), National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters who began their musical careers in Detroit, Michigan.

A community collaboration between Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) MET-X and Frederick Community College's Theatre FCC will produce J.M. Barrie's timeless classic Peter Pan. The thrilling tale of the boy who never grows up is coming to the JBK Theatre at Frederick Community College (7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick) from August 8 through 17. In 2012 the partnership between the school and the theater company produced the world premiere theatrical production of Robin Hood: Occupy Sherwood. This year the partnership between Theatre FCC and MET-X, a division of MET that produces work outside of its professional mainstage season like this community theater project, hopes to build on the success of last year's Robin Hood show and involve even more of the community in what promises to be a great adventure.
