Signature Theatre's 'World of the Play' Continues for AND I AND SILENCE, 9/13

Signature Theatre has announced the continuation of the "World of the Play" series with a panel of experts discussing Women Prisoners and America's Incarceration Crisis. This event is presented in conjunction with the U.S. Premiere of AND I AND SILENCE by Naomi Wallace, directed by Caitlin McLeod, and will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 4:15 p.m. in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The event is free and open to the general public (no reservations required).

California Stage to Present LOVE, ISADORA, 9/20-10/12

California Stage will revive Rick Foster's smash-hit show Love, Isadora September 20th-October 12th, 2014. Professional actress Lori Russo reprises her Elly Award-winning turn as Isadora Duncan, the mother of modern dance, with Janis Stevens' inspired direction.

TNC to Stage OUT THE WINDOW and RAPPACCINI'S DAUGHTER This Fall

Theater for the New City, Crystal Field, Executive Director, and The After Dinner Opera Company present two new American operatic musical adaptations from classical works, Seymour Barab's operatic parody Out the Window based upon Georges Feydeux's farce 'Par La Fenetre;' and Rappaccini's Daughter, based on Nathaniel Hawthorne's gothic short story, with libretto by Linsey Abrams and music by Michael Cohen. Lissa Moira directs.

Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the U.S. Premiere of AND I AND SILENCE by Naomi Wallace, directed by Caitlin McLeod. The New Group celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2014-2015 and has announced three productions for this milestone season: the first major New York revival of Sticks and Bones, the Tony Award-winning play by David Rabe, directed by Scott Elliott, and featuring Holly Hunter and Bill Pullman; the New York premiere of Rasheeda Speaking by Joel Drake Johnson, helmed by Cynthia Nixon in her directorial debut, and featuring Tonya Pinkins and Dianne Wiest; and the world premiere of The Spoils, a new play written by and featuring Jesse Eisenberg, directed by Scott Elliott. Special 20th Anniversary events at The New Group to be announced.

TV: New York City's Signature Theatre on Winning the 2014 Regional Theatre Award

As announced earlier this evening, the 2014 Regional Theatre Award went to New York's Signature Theatre. Each year, the Tony Awards Administration Committee presents a Tony Award to a regional theatre on the recommendation of the American Theatre Critics Association. EgoPo's 20th Anniversary Gala Set for 6/25

EgoPo Classic Theater celebrates their 20th anniversary with a special Annual Gala on Wednesday, June 25th from 6-9pm on the tall ship Gazela, docked at Penn's Landing (Market St. & Columbus Blvd.). This sea-themed Gala will feature food by Stephen Starr, an open bar, a huge silent auction, and live sea shanties sung by EgoPo's artists while guests sip champagne under the stars.

NAAP Presents OLIVER!, Starring An All-Asian Cast, Now thru 6/7

True to its core mission of showcasing the talents of Asian-American theater artists, National Asian Artists Project (NAAP), which presented the Broadway musical 'Hello, Dolly!' last year, is now facing the challenge of staging Lionel Bart's beloved Broadway musical OLIVER!, featuring a 65-member all-Asian cast made up of 20 child actors, including Bonale Zon Fambrini, who will play the title role; 25 professional adult actors; and 20 members of the NAAP Broadway Community Chorus.

Jack Cummings III to Direct THE MUSIC MAN Concert at Transport Group, 6/23

Following the sold out concert sensations Baby and Once Upon a Mattress, Transport Group Theatre Company proudly presents The Music Man in concert on Monday, June 23 at 8pm at the The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre in The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street. The evening will be directed by five-time Drama Desk nominee, Jack Cummings III. Casting will be announced at a later date.
