A.R.T. Sets ASL and Audio Described Performances for 2013-14 Season

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has scheduled American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performances and Audio Described performances for blind and low-visioned audiences during the A.R.T.'s 2013-14 Season.

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that the Sixth Annual Steinberg Playwright 'Mimi' Awards will be presented on Monday, November 18, 2013. The 'Mimi' Awards are presented biennially to honor the accomplishments of some of the most gifted up-and-coming American playwrights and to recognize the promise they hold for the future of American theater.

Lyndon B. Johnson Play THE GREAT SOCIETY to Open Off-Broadway at Clurman Theatre Tonight

ALBERT PODELL and THE YORK SHAKESPEARE COMPANY are pleased to announce the world premiere production of Alexander Harrington's The Great Society, directed by Seth Duerr. The Great Society will play a four-week limited engagement at the Clurman Theatre (Theatre Row: 410 West 42nd Street, NYC). Performances began Saturday, August 3 and continue through Saturday, August 24. Opening Night is tonight, August 8 (8 p.m.).

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University announced today that single tickets for the first production of the 2013/14 Season are now on sale to the general public. The A.R.T. will open its season with Robert Schenkkan's new play All The Way, directed by Bill Rauch, with three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston playing the lead role of Lyndon Baines Johnson. The production begins performances on September 13.

According to the New York Times, a slew of new plays are setting their sights on Broadway for the upcoming 2013-14 season. Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced might move to Broadway, starring Aasif Mandvi, who also led the LCT3 production. Additional casting is currently underway.

More than ten teams of artists and technologists will collaborate to create new 'experience apps,' concepts, and prototypes this weekend at the inaugural Orchard Project Hackathon, the Artistic Director of the Exchange and the Orchard Project, Ari Edelson, announced today. Over the course of the weekend, teams will be challenged to develop technologies that advance the artistic form.
