The UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture along with its performing arts presenting program, The Center for the Art of Performance (CAP UCLA), announces the selection of BAR Architects of San Francisco for the renovation of the Crest Theatre on Westwood Boulevard.

Union County Performing Arts Center's Classic Film Series continues with three classic films presented on 35mm film. All film screenings include free popcorn along with an organ pre-show on the theater's historic 'Biggest Little Wurlitzer' organ beginning at 7:15pm for 8:00pm shows and 4pm for the matinee.

The fourth annual FilmTwo Initiative launches today in LA to support the career sustainability of thirteen artists developing their second features. Grammy Award-nominated pianist, vocalist, and songwriter Judy Carmichael will bring her new show, Swing Time!, toFeinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, May 31 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, June 1 (8 p.m.). Eleven screenwriters have been selected to participate in Sundance Institute's seventh annual Screenwriters Intensive in Los Angeles, to take place February 28 - March 1, 2019. Part of the Institute's commitment to introducing the industry to an inclusive pipeline of exciting new storytellers, the Intensive is a two-day workshop for writers or writer/directors from underrepresented communities developing their first fiction feature. Fellows at the Intensive will advance the art and craft of their work under the guidance of experienced filmmakers and in collaboration with Institute's Feature Film Program.

Emmy nominee and two-time Oscar nominee Bruce Dern (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Mustang) is joining the cast of AT&T AUDIENCE Network's critically acclaimed drama series Mr. Mercedes, as a guest star. The 15th Annual Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) is pleased to announce its full program of 55 films, including six films straight from this year's Sundance Film Festival, and six music documentaries, two of which will be the feature films on Opening and Closing nights. This year, BIFF features the following celebrity appearances: music legend David Crosby will be in-person on Opening Night to talk about his hot new documentary, David Crosby: Remember My Name; Golden Globe-nominated actor, writer, director and producer Emilio Estevez will participate in a Q&A after the screening of his film, The Public; and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan will be in the house on Closing Night to talk about the critically acclaimed music film, Echo In The Canyon.

Honorees, named in total below, represent new achievements in global independent storytelling. Bold, intimate, and humanizing stories prevailed across categories, with Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Clemency (U.S. Dramatic), One Child Nation (U.S. Documentary), Honeyland (World Cinema Documentary) and The Souvenir (World Cinema Dramatic).

Actor and comedian Justin Long will join the cast of the New York premiere of Mara Nelson-Greenberg's DO YOU FEEL ANGER?, directed by Margot Bordelon. Performances will begin at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) on Wednesday, March 13 with opening night set for Sunday, March 31.

Sundance Institute and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative (AI2) today released demographic data on submissions and acceptances to the annual Sundance Film Festival to reveal key insights on the talent pipeline in the film industry for women and people of color. 

Three American Masters Pictures documentaries will have their world premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2019, which runs from January 24 – February 3: Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool, N. Scott Momaday: Words from a Bear and Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am.

Primitive Grace Theater Ensemble will present the World Premiere of MASTER OF THE CROSSROADS written and directed by Obie Award winner and SAG Award nominee Paul Calderon (The Bad Lieutenant, Boardwalk Empire). Previews begin January 16th at The Bridge Theater. Opening is slated for Today, January 23rd.

On this day, we salute the life and art of Theoni V. Aldredge, the costume designer of the original stage version of 'La Cage aux Folles' and 'Annie' on Broadway who passed away on this day in 2011.
