Sundance Institute announced today that Jason Blum, Ebs Burnough, Lynette Wallworth and Lisa-Michele Church will join the Institute's Board of Trustees. The new Trustees bring deep experience and broad expertise spanning communications, emerging media, and film production to the Institute's governance, and will work closely with President & Founder Robert Redford, Board Chair Pat Mitchell and Executive Director Keri Putnam.

It's Showtime Theatre of Huntley is pleased to announce the artistic staff for its summer musical revue concert in June.  Proceeds from this musical revue will go to further help grow It's Showtime of Huntley Community Theater Program.

Folsom Lake College welcomes actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover to the Harris Center in a lecture moderated by KFBK's Kitty O'Neal. A commanding presence on screen, stage, and television for more than 25 years, Danny Glover's film credits range from the blockbuster Lethal Weapon franchise to the Oscar-nominated hit Dreamgirls, to smaller independent features — some of which Glover also produced. The son of civil rights activists, he has gained respect and renown for his wide-reaching community activism and philanthropic efforts, and currently serves as an Ambassador for UNICEF.

The Bucks County Playhouse has announced titles and creative teams for the theater's 80th anniversary season, which will launch May 17.

The UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture along with its performing arts presenting program, The Center for the Art of Performance (CAP UCLA), announces the selection of BAR Architects of San Francisco for the renovation of the Crest Theatre on Westwood Boulevard.

Union County Performing Arts Center's Classic Film Series continues with three classic films presented on 35mm film. All film screenings include free popcorn along with an organ pre-show on the theater's historic 'Biggest Little Wurlitzer' organ beginning at 7:15pm for 8:00pm shows and 4pm for the matinee.

The fourth annual FilmTwo Initiative launches today in LA to support the career sustainability of thirteen artists developing their second features. Grammy Award-nominated pianist, vocalist, and songwriter Judy Carmichael will bring her new show, Swing Time!, toFeinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, May 31 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, June 1 (8 p.m.). Eleven screenwriters have been selected to participate in Sundance Institute's seventh annual Screenwriters Intensive in Los Angeles, to take place February 28 - March 1, 2019. Part of the Institute's commitment to introducing the industry to an inclusive pipeline of exciting new storytellers, the Intensive is a two-day workshop for writers or writer/directors from underrepresented communities developing their first fiction feature. Fellows at the Intensive will advance the art and craft of their work under the guidance of experienced filmmakers and in collaboration with Institute's Feature Film Program.

But how will the Playhouse manage two Francescas and two Roberts? I spoke with the director, Kimberly Faith Hickman, and the leads, Angela Jenson Frey and Thomas Gjere, and Mackenzie Dehmer and James Verderamo to get their take on the process.

The 15th Annual Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) is pleased to announce its full program of 55 films, including six films straight from this year's Sundance Film Festival, and six music documentaries, two of which will be the feature films on Opening and Closing nights. Bold, intimate, and humanizing stories prevailed across categories, with Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Clemency (U.S. Dramatic), One Child Nation (U.S. Documentary), Honeyland (World Cinema Documentary) and The Souvenir (World Cinema Dramatic).

Actor and comedian Justin Long will join the cast of the New York premiere of Mara Nelson-Greenberg's DO YOU FEEL ANGER?, directed by Margot Bordelon. Performances will begin at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) on Wednesday, March 13 with opening night set for Sunday, March 31.

Sundance Institute and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative (AI2) today released demographic data on submissions and acceptances to the annual Sundance Film Festival to reveal key insights on the talent pipeline in the film industry for women and people of color.
