ECCE Ensemble closes its 2014-15 concert season with an event featuring works by a fascinating mix of renowned composers, including pieces from its latest CD, 'Chamber Industrial' the first all-Per Bloland works recording. Also on the program are compositions by John Zorn, Erin Gee, the late Jonathan Harvey and ECCE's own John Aylward. Kicking of the evening is the premiere of two works to be announced from the ensemble's Call for Scores program.

BWW Reviews: A Quiet Grace in Rep's DEAR ELIZABETH

Every now and again it's nice to have an evening with a quiet little play such as the Seattle Rep's current offering of "Dear Elizabeth". A play with no grand reveal, or overarching conflict to resolve. Just a simple story about a relationship. That may sound uninteresting and it could be but in the hands of a very gifted playwright and talented cast and crew this quiet tale still packs a punch.

A musical valentine celebrating the Golden Age of the American Musical, Character Man will be presented at BSC's St. Germain Stage at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center from tonight, September 18 through 28. The press opening is Saturday, September 20 at 7:30pm.

Horizon Theatre Rep Presents CULTURE SHOCK 1911-1922, Now thru 9/21

As the world reflects on the centennial of World War I, Horizon Theatre Rep presents 'Culture Shock 1911-1922,' an evening of German Expressionist plays that were born of the age that gave birth to it. The production, conceived and directed by Rafael De Mussa, includes 'Sancta Susanna' (1911) by August Stramm, translated by Henry Marx; 'The Guardian of the Tomb' (1916) by Franz Kafka (Kafka's only play), translated by J. M. Ritchie; 'The Transfiguration' (1919) by Ernst Toller, translated by Edward Crankshaw; 'Ithaka' (1914) by Gottfried Benn, translated by J.M. Ritchie and 'Crucifixion' (1920) by Lothar Schreyer, translated by Mel Gordon. Performances will be today, September 4 to 21 (opens September 7) at Access Theater, 380 Broadway in TriBeCa.

North Coast to Start Weekly Run at The Peoples Improv Theater Next Month

North Coast, New York City's Premiere Hip­Hop Long­Form Improv show will be starting a weekly run at The Peoples Improv Theater starting June 2014. Formed in February 2009, North Coast weaves Long­Form Improvisation and the elements of Hip­Hop together to form an energetic and dynamic show.
