Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian and David Mirvish's lavish, Dora Award-winning production of the timeless classic THE SOUND OF MUSIC will enjoy its 1st Anniversary - a full year on stage at the Princess of Wales Theatre - this Friday, October 2.
The current cast, headed by Gemma Atkinson, Jill Baker, June Brown, Richenda Carey, Sara Crowe, Anita Dobson, Jill Halfpenny, Jerry Hall and Jack Ryder, were originally scheduled to play until October 17, but will now play until October 31
'CALENDAR GIRLS', the new stage play by Tim Firth, adapted from his own screenplay for the 2003 film, originally starred Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Sian Phillips, Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills and Elaine C Smith. LOST star Daniel Dae Kim will departs the island of Hawaii for the spotlight of the London stage this coming summer to star in a new production of musical The King and I. The Korean-born Kim was a guest on 'The View' this morning and spoke about his taking on the iconic role of the 'King of Siam' for the UK mounting. He explained that it would be produced in the UK, 'It's actually going to be in London at the Royal Albert Hall. We start rehearsals start in May'.
