The Almeida Theatre today announces a new production of Henrik Ibsen's The Wild Duck, in a new version created by Almeida Associate Director Robert Icke.

After 'sealing the deal' with critics and audiences alike during its smash hit West End run, Sam Yates' unmissable production of one of David Mamet's greatest and most lauded plays, Glengarry Glen Ross will embark on a nationwide tour from 14 February 2019 opening at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking. The hard-nosed sales team in this darkly funny classic will then visit Birmingham, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Glasgow, Richmond, Brighton and Cardiff with further tour dates to be announced shortly.

If you've never read George Orwell's 1984, the seminal classic examining a world that's fallen under the rule of the nameless Party and their omnipotent leader Big Brother, stop what you're doing and read it now. Or you can just see Scena Theatre's new production playing at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The show takes a while to amp up but the thrilling climax is performed with such vigor and authenticity that the true dangers of Orwell's devised society come to fruition.

Michael Boyd's much anticipated production of The Cherry Orchard has begun rehearsals for the Bristol Old Vic and Royal Exchange Theatre co-production. Rory Mullarkey's brand-new translation will be directed by Boyd, celebrated former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). Having studied Russian and trained as a director in Moscow, extraordinarily, he will be directing Chekhov - the literary love of his life - for the first time.

Winners of The Stage Awards 2018, in association with Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd, were announced at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Friday, January 26, 2018. The Almeida Theatre was named London Theatre of the Year, sponsored by Managed Networks, for the second time having previously won the award in 2016. The theatre was praised for productions including Hamlet starring Andrew Scott, Robert Icke's production of Mary Stuart and James Graham's new play Ink.

Following a critically acclaimed, sold-out season at the Almeida in 2016-17, Robert Icke's new adaptation of Mary Stuarttransfers to the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End from Saturday 13 January for a limited run. The production will then visit Theatre Royal Bath from Wednesday 4 Saturday 14 April, Salford Lowry from Tuesday 17 Saturday 21 April and Cambridge Arts Theatre from Monday 23 Saturday 28 April 2018.

Actor Peter Wight's career varies from Robert Icke's recent Hamlet to a range of classical and contemporary work with the National Theatre, Royal Court and RSC, plus multiple Mike Leigh films. His current project is the 60th-anniversary revival of Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party, now in previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Mary Stuart returns to the London stage, following a sell out run at the Almeida Theatre. Playing the role of Mortimer, Rudi Dharmalingam spoke to us about preparing to revisit the character, working with director Robert Icke, and the significance of the play today.

The production is designed by Tom Scutt, with lighting design by Lee Curran, composition by Angus MacRae, sound by Carolyn Downing and casting by Julia Horan.
