The Met has announced the Week 22 schedule for its Nightly Met Opera Streams, a free series of encore Live in HD presentations and classic telecasts streamed on the company website during the coronavirus closure.

Having completed their presentation of Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi in September, Washington Concert Opera presents its second performance of the season, the rarely performed opera, Guntram, by Richard Strauss. In his 13th season with Washington Concert Opera, Artistic Director and Conductor, Maestro Antony Walker, takes the stage for this highly ambitious presentation. Christian Gerhaher kehrt als Wolfram von Eschenbach zuru?ck in das Haus am Ring, Ire?ne Theorin verko?rpert erneut die Venus. Erstmals an der Wiener Staatsoper sind außerdem die Ensemblemitglieder Sorin Coliban als Biterolf, James Kryshak als Heinrich der Schreiber, Dan Paul Dumitrescu als Reinmar von Zweter und Annika Gerhards als Junger Hirt zu erleben.

Met Principal Guest Conductor Fabio Luisi conducts his first house performances of Richard Strauss's tragicomic opera-within-an-opera, Ariadne auf Naxos. The three-performance run features the Met role debuts of Joyce DiDonato as the Composer and Robert Dean Smith as Bacchus, opposite the acclaimed interpretations of Violeta Urmana as Ariadne, Kathleen Kim as Zerbinetta, and Thomas Allen as the Music Master.

Robert Dean Smith will make his Met debut on Saturday, March 22, singing the role of Tristan in Wagner's Tristan und Isolde. The performance, which begins at 12:30 p.m/ET, will be transmitted live to movie theaters around the world as part of The Met: Live in HD series. Ben Heppner, who was originally slated to sing that performance, is still recovering from an illness, and is scheduled to sing on Tuesday, March 25 and Friday, March 28.
