Theatre @ Boston Court to Present SE LLAMA CRISTINA, 1/16-2/23

The Theatre @ Boston Court presents Se Llama Cristina, by Octavio Solis, directed by Robert Castro. This production is the final stop on the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere, which included productions at The Magic Theater in San Francisco and Kitchen Dog in Dallas. Opening night is Saturday, January 25, 2014 on the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor Avenue.

MainStreet Theatre Company to Premiere AESOP IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA, 10/26-11/10

MainStreet Theatre Company has announced the first production of its 2013/2014 season, Aesop in Rancho Cucamonga, a world premiere play by Luis Alfaro and directed by Robert Castro. Now in its eighth season, MainStreet Theatre Company commissioned this adaptation of Aesop's Fables with a generous grant from the James Irvine Foundation. The production, which is also supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, will play two school performances on October 25 and open to the public on Saturday, October 26 at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, November 10 only.

The Theatre @ Boston Court announces its 2014 Season. The season begins January 26 with Se Llama Cristina, by Octavio Solis, a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere. The spring production is the World Premiere of Everything You Touch, by Sheila Callaghan, a Co-Production with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. The summer brings a co-production with Circle X Theater Company on a West Coast PremiereStupid F*cking Bird, by Aaron Posner. The season closes in the fall with Samuel Beckett's Happy Days featuring Brooke Adams, directed by Andrei Belgrader. All productions will appear on the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor Avenue.

Pasadena Playhouse Welcomes Seema Sueko as Associate Artistic Director

The Pasadena Playhouse announced today that Seema Sueko has been appointed to be its new Associate Artistic Director. Sueko, who is the co-founder and Executive Artistic Director of the Mo`olelo Performing Arts Company in San Diego will assume her new role at The Playhouse beginning January 6, 2014.

The book is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and The MainStreet Theatre Company was awarded a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts to help support the production. Performances run from tonight, May 5th through May 20th at Rancho Cucamonga's Lewis Family Playhouse in the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center. The adaptation is by John Glore, and it will be directed by Robert Castro.
