Variety reports the casting for the upcoming La Jolla production of The Wiz, directed by Des McAnuff. The show will feature Wayne Brady (Scarecrow), David Alan Grier (the Wizard), Nikki M. James, (Dorothy), Tituss Burgess (the Lion) and Michael Benjamin Washington (Tin Man).

The 50th Annual Drama Desk Awards Ceremony took place on Sunday, May 22. The big winners of the night were Doubt and The Light in the Piazza, each of whom received 5 awards. Outstanding Musical however, went to Spamalot.

Reilly (Stanley Kowalski) in a new Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' classic drama A Streetcar Named Desire, with Amy Ryan (Stella Kowalski) & Chris Bauer (Mitch), directed by Edward Hall at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). This is a limited engagement through July 3rd, 2005.
