August: Osage County, by Tracy Letts, today won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2007-2008 season. The Best Musical award was given to Passing Strange (book and lyrics by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald).

What prompted his departure was that Suzanne Caubet, playing the role of a gypsy girl who spends the entire evening speaking in a cartoonish broken English, had just uttered the line, 'Me Nubi. Adam Feldman, president of the New York Drama Critics' Circle (NYDCC), announced today that the Circle will meet at the offices of Time Out New York magazine on Monday, May 7, to select the winners of the 71st annual New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards, which will be announced at approximately 7pm, immediately following the meeting.
