Today, Disney announced that it will donate its 50 millionth book to First Book, a nonprofit that provides new books to educators and organizations serving children from low-income families.

Casting has been announced for the Memphis engagement of the First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, the First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will play The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN January 12 - 17, 2016. Tickets are on sale now.

Music Theatre of Connecticut School of the Performing Arts presents Roald Dahl's 'James and the Giant Peach,' JR, with words and music and by Benj Pasek and MTC alumni Justin Paul and book by Timothy Allen McDonald. The Kennedy Center presents the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit Matilda The Musical in the Kennedy Center Opera House for four weeks, from tonight, December 15, 2015 to January 10, 2016.

According to Variety, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is currently playing in the West End, will get a new director for it's Broadway run- which is aiming for the 2016-17 season. Sam Mendes will no longer helm the incoming musical due to scheduling conflicts, and rumor has  it that Jack O'Brien (who has previously worked with composers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman in HAIRSPRAY) will fill his place. Mendes will remain as a show producer and will reportedly be a part of the selection for his replacement.

For every $2.50 donated to First Book through December 31, 2015, Penguin Young Readers will provide an in-kind donation of two additional books, up to 500,000 books, for a total of three books going to children in need.
