Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach on a journey with human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities. Renowned educationalist Sir Ken Robinson will be the Patron of The Imagination Awards, a competition launched by the award-winning West End production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to champion creativity and inspire the next generation of theatre makers. MATILDA National Tour at Durham Performing Arts Center

Broadway In Chicago has announced that individual tickets for MATILDA THE MUSICAL, produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, go on sale to the public on Friday, January 22.  The First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will play Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) March 22 through April 10, 2016.

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) launches its 2016 year with the musical James and the Giant Peach, based on the popular book by Roald Dahl (1916-1990) with a score written by Tony Award nominated duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, A Christmas Story). Sponsored by Geico Insurance, James and the Giant Peach features a talented cast including Helen Hayes Award Nominated Jimmy Mavrikes (First Stage, Bat Boy) and the much-praised Tobias Young (Olney's Guys and Dolls). The Rose Theatre Kingston today announces its full spring season with an array of the finest drama, children's theatre, comedy and music.

The critically acclaimed off-Broadway hit THE ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS OF LEONARD PELKEY, written by and starring James Lecesne, the writer of the Academy Award-winning film Trevor, begins a limited 23 performance engagement at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, tonight, January 13. After news that CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY -- currently playing in the West End -- would be gaining Jack O'Brien as its new director on Broadway in spring 2017, The Daily Mail reports that choreographer Josh Bergasse has replaced Peter Darling on the creative team.

The Melbourne Season of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL features four young actresses who will share the title role. The Royal Shakespeare Company's Australian production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL is set to end the year on a high, having topped Ben Netuze's Top 12 for the Sydney Stage list, published on Monday by Crikey Media's Daily Review.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Tony nominee Elizabeth Swados, composer of Broadway's RUNAWAYS, theatre educator, off-Broadway director and more, has passed away. She was 64.

Today, Disney announced that it will donate its 50 millionth book to First Book, a nonprofit that provides new books to educators and organizations serving children from low-income families. To celebrate this milestone, Disney and ABC are inviting consumers to join the fourth annual Magic of Storytelling campaign through a number of activities between now and March 31, 2016, including the first annual Disney Reads Day on February 6, 2016.
