Walnut Street Theatre continues its landmark 210th season with Roald Dahl's MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Directed by Linda Goodrich, with choreography by Michelle Gaudette, MATILDA THE MUSICAL begins previews on November 6th, opens on November 14th, and runs through January 6th on the Walnut's Mainstage.

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) is pleased to announce that Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will go on sale on Friday, October 12 at 10A. Tickets will be available at the PPAC Box Office, online at www.ppacri.org and by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787). Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will play at the Providence Performing Arts Center, February 5 - 10, 2019. Ticket prices start at $41; all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge and are subject to change without notice.

The chocolate factory is coming to a city near you! Full dates and cities have been announced for the upcoming North American tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The tour will launch at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY, before bringing Wonka's world of pure imagination to previously announced engagements in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and more. Casting will be announced at a later date.

World-renowned ballet dancer, choreographer and TV personality Wayne Sleep OBE will lead the cast of its 2018 family pantomime, Aladdin, in the role of Abanazar from 29 November to 6 January 2019.

MATILDA may be losing some of its appeal as a children's story, especially when Children's Theatre of Charlotte makes it more realistic than the national tour that came to town just two years ago.

ZACH Theatre announces two new offerings to the 2018-19 Moody Foundation Theatre for Families Season (TFF) along with new season packages available now.  Theatre for the very young, Wake Up, Brother Bear! will run October 16, 2018-April 21, 2019 at ZACH North, under the direction of Carolyn Dellinger from the Magik Theatre in San Antonio. In collaboration with University of Texas at Austin's Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities (DTYC) MFA Program, This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing will now join the season lineup running January 13, 19, 20, and 26, 2019 in The Whisenhunt at ZACH, performed and devised by the ensemble.

Looks like Matilda is still getting a little bit naughty! A statue has been built depicting the pint-sized literary and theatrical icon staring down Donald Trump, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Roald Dahl's book being published.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL is coming to the Marina Bay Sands Singapore in 2019, running from Feb. 21 to March 3. 

Broadway In Chicago has announced that a digital lottery will begin October 1 at 9 a.m. for Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.  Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will play a limited engagement at Broadway In Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL) from October 2 - October 21.

Roald Dahl's much-loved book George's Marvellous Medicine will be brought to life at Arts Centre Melbourne's Playhouse from 25 - 29 September as part of a national tour. Dahl's classic tale bounds off the page and onto the stage in a spectacular live show for all ages.

Artisan Children's Theater proudly presents ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA JR. at its 148 seat Second Stage facility. The theater is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. The show runs Friday, October 5, 2018 through Saturday, November 3, 2018. Performances are Fridays at 5:00pm and Saturdays at 10:00am and 12:00pm with additional 12:00pm performances on October 23 and 30. Mirvish Subscriptions have been a major part of Toronto's cultural calendar for over 50 years. The subscription series began at the Royal Alexandra Theatre and has grown to include performances at the four Mirvish theatres - the Royal Alex, the Princess of Wales, the Ed Mirvish and the CAA.

Do you know what the nickname of September 13 is? It is called the "Roald Dahl Day," a holiday dedicated to the beloved storyteller, Roald Dahl. Out of his amazing books such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, James and The Giant Peach, Royal Shakespeare Company had chosen Matilda as its next big musical project. MATILDA was first premiered on West End in 2011, following with a Broadway premiere in 2013. Since then, this show has been produced in several English-speaking countries. However, in 2017, a rumor began to spread that they were having their first non-English speaking country production. Everybody was excited to find out which country took the honor. Finally, in August 16th, 2018, the first non-English speaking production of MATILDA had its first premiere in LG Arts Center of Seoul, South Korea. 

Atlantic for Kids presents the world premiere production of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, featuring words and music by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald to kick off their season.

Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) celebrates their nominations for three awards in the UK Theatre Awards 2018. The world premiere of Howard Brenton's The Shadow Factory, has been nominated for a UK Theatre Award in the Best Design category; Streetcar Named Desire, a co-production with Theatr Clwyd and English Touring Theatre, has been nominated for The Renee Stepham Award for Best Presentation of Touring Theatre; and the NST City opening campaign has been nominated in the Achievement in Marketing and Audience Development category.
