SLCL Welcomes Ridley Pearson Tonight

The St. Louis County Library presents St. Louisan and acclaimed suspense author Ridley Pearson at this special pre-publication event for his newest thriller 'Choke Point' tonight, June 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The program is free and open to the public. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Seating is limited; early arrival is recommended.) Copies of the book will be available for purchase from Left Bank Books.

Just yesterday, cast members from off-Broadway's Peter and the Starcatcher were on hand as Two Boots Pizza in Hell's Kitchen celebrated the unveiling of their May "Broadway Pizza" slice, "The Starcatcher." Toppings include mozzarella, ricotta, fresh garlic, andouille, shrimp, and a swirl of jalapeño pesto. BroadwayWorld was there for the unveiling and you can check out full coverage below!

New Subscriptions for ASU Gammage Go On Sale 5/13

New subscriptions to the 2013-2014 Broadway Across America - Arizona season at ASU Gammage in Tempe go on sale May 13. It will be a Broadway extravaganza with a seven-show series and three special engagements. The top touring market has done it again bringing some of the biggest Broadway hits to town including EVITA, THE GERSHWINS' PORGY & BESS, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, ONCE as well as the long awaited return of JERSEY BOYS and DISNEY'S THE LION KING.

The St. Louis County Library Foundation's Reading Garden Event Series is pleased to present St. Louis' most popular young adult author Ridley Pearson for a discussion and signing of the latest installment in his popular Disney series "Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage" on Saturday, April 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

The cast includes returning Broadway cast members Rick Holmes, now playing Black Stache, Jason Ralph, now playing Boy, along with Kevin Del Aguila as Smee, Matt D'Amico as Slank, and Evan Harrington as Alf, all reprising their roles. They are joined by Nicole Lowrance (Molly), Edward Baker-Duly(Lord Aster), Josh Grisetti (Fighting Prawn), Alex Hernandez (Captain Scott), Nate Miller (Ted), Andrew Mueller (Prentiss), Jon Patrick Walker (Mrs. Bumbrake),Jordan Geiger, Joanna Howard, and Graham Stevens.

SIDE SHOW & More Set for Kennedy Center's 2013-14 Season

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced its 2013-2014 theater season. Reaching hundreds of thousands of audience members annually, the theater season features a new Kennedy Center re-imagining of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Side Show, in association with La Jolla Playhouse with revisions by Krieger and Russell and direction by Academy Award winning director Bill Condon; touring productions of Sister Act, Elf, Flashdance – The Musical, Peter and the Starcatcher, An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, and Disney's The Lion King; and an international theater festival highlighting renowned companies from around the world. The season will also bring the seventh season of Barbara Cook's Spotlight series, individually showcasing five Broadway performers in a cabaret setting. Committed to arts education, creation of new works, and community and national involvement, the Center also hosts the 12th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival and the 46th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

BOOK OF MORMON, EVITA, ONCE, FLASHDANCE and More Set for PPAC's 2013-14 Broadway Season

J.L. 'Lynn' Singleton, President of the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), has announced PPAC's 36th Anniversary Broadway season and welcome Taco/The White Family Foundation as the returning Broadway Series title sponsor. From the creators of South Park and winner of nine Tony Awards, THE BOOK OF MORMON will play a limited two-week engagement April 28 - May 11, 2014.

BWW Flashback: PETER AND THE STARCATCHER Flies from Broadway Today; Lands in a 'New World'

Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony Award-winning play by Tony Award-nominee Rick Elice, will play its final Broadway performance today, January 20, 2013, ending its nearly year-long run. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012, and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Before the production lands in its new home at off-Broadway's New World Stages this March, BroadwayWorld takes you on a journey through Starcatcher's beginnings (and ending) on Broadway!

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER to Begin Off-Broadway at New World Stages, March 18

After Peter and the Starcatcher plays its final performance on Broadway on January 20, 2013, the show will follow Avenue Q, Rent and Million Dollar Quartet by opening off Broadway at New World Stages. According to Telecharge, the show will begin off-Broadway on March 18. Casting has yet to be announced for the show's next incarnation.
