Kory Caudill Releases 'Song For Appalachia' from New EP

When Kory Caudill began making plans to record his second album, he knew the focus had to be on one of his strongest passions - his home state of Kentucky and specifically the area surrounding his Prestonsburg roots. The aptly titled Song for Appalachia EP features six songs old and new and was produced by Sean Truskowski and Caudill.

More than 44 musicians with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra join a cast of professional singers and dancers from the United States and Europe in Shining A New Light on the Arts, an original blend of cutting-edge classical and contemporary performing arts. The two-act Pacific Arts Society production on Saturday, July 29 at 8 p.m. features an elaborate counterpoint of soaring classical vocals matched by lyrical and spirited dance.

Lucy Angel and Jeff Bates helped a local Vietnam and Desert Storm Veteran by restoring a home through the fundraising campaign Heroes at Home. Bates shared his thoughts on being able to help those who gave so much with “The Pickup.”

Headlining the Spencer Theater Summer Season 2017 is the classic country praise music of The Blackwood Quartet and the legendary Larry Gatlin of The Gatlin Brothers on Saturday, May 27 at 8 p.m. (Concert tickets are $39-$69). This promises to be a night of pure western-styled gospel beauty with the Blackwood's favorite Christian melodies like How Great Thou Art, Put Your Hand In The Hand, The Light House, Amazing Grace, Peace In The Valley, and many other gospel classics. Western great Larry Gatlin (pictured above), the eldest of the three Gatlin Brothers and writer of all their greatest hits including All The Gold In California and Houston, holds some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. His showcase of gospel and Gatlin favorites will open the second set of music that night, following The Blackwood Quartet (pictured left). The duo of headliners will then come together in our stage lights for an extended encore of songs. This special evening is being sponsored in-part by Lynn & Bruce Morgan and Sandra & David Barrett.
