Pianist Kory Caudill stirred the music world with his "Song For Appalachia" single and music video earlier this year, and he has announced the release of Christmas with Kory Caudill & Friends on Friday, November 10, 2017. The 11-song collection includes timeless standards and the stirring new lullaby "Sleepy Little Baby Boy." Produced by Caudill and Jamie Tate, the new album will be available on Rukkus Room Records.

"When Jamie, myself and the band set out to make a Christmas record, we knew there were several routes we could take in terms of our approach," said Caudill. "Ultimately, we wanted to make a Christmas record that allowed folks to feel the same enthusiasm about the season when they listen to it as we felt when we recorded the album."

Christmas with Kory Caudill & Friends kicks off with the Jazzy, Country "Feliz Navidad." Lead guitarist Roger Coleman II handled lead vocals on "Run, Run, Rudolph." "In true Rog fashion, He got to the session, sang it down once, nailed it, and left to go fishing!"

Kory brought in two talented fellow Eastern Kentuckians for vocals on four songs. Singer/songwriter Josh Martin's smooth voice is heard on "Sleigh Ride," and Jerica Blair sings the swanky version of "This Christmas" and a beautiful version of "Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel." "Have You Heard The News" features Kory's father, Keith on vocals, Hammond and harmonica.

Martin and Caudill wrote the "Sleepy Little Baby Boy," which Martin also sang. Written from the unique perspective of Joseph, father of Jesus, the song imagines the things that would be going through his mind as he prepared to raise his son. A music video is already running on Kory's socials and can be viewed here.
"Carol of the Bells" is one of the most unique tracks on the record, smoothly transitioning from a Christmas classic into Edgar Winter Group's "Frankenstein." "This may be the most fun I've ever had recording a song." Instrumental versions of "White Christmas," the simple, sweet, contemplative "Silent Night" and the delightful "Jingle Bells" round out the album.
"My hope is that we have recorded an album that causes listeners to enjoy themselves the same as they would at one of the Christmas concerts I grew up watching in Kentucky. I hope it's something folks can hear and be reminded of all things good about the season, especially the real reason it's celebrated."
Producer Tate recorded Christmas with Kory Caudill & Friends at his Rukkus Room studio at hi-resolution using class-A vintage gear, Apogee converters, and superlative microphones. It was mixed through a vintage, analog console and printed back to hi-res digital. "These tracks are the sounds of world-class musicians playing real instruments," said Tate. "The piano is real, the B-3 is real, the drums are real, the talent is real. This Christmas record has been one of the most musically fulfilling projects of my career."

A classically trained pianist, Kory signed as the flagship artist to Naxos USA's Suite 28 Records label. His influences range widely from Frederic Chopin to Ricky Skaggs and from Bruce Hornsby to Yanni. He began playing melodies on the piano when he was only a toddler, and now he is one of the most sought after keyboardists in the country.
