Sara Ramirez picked the right night to attend THE AUDIENCE.

Tonight, 12 May 2015, the multi award-winning smash hit Billy Elliot the Musical celebrates ten years in the West End.  The musical received its world premiere at the Victoria Palace Theatre in March 2005 with the gala opening night taking place exactly 10 years ago today.   To coincide with the 10th birthday celebrations, Billy Elliot the Musical today announces an extension to the West End run, releasing over 600,000 tickets for sale, taking booking through to 17 December 2016.  In addition, the first UK and Ireland tour of Billy Elliot the Musical is also announced today, opening at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in February 2016.  Further tour dates and booking details will be announced shortly.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2014-15 season in 24 categories. Following the General Election, Peter Morgan has today (8 May 2015) updated his script for The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - on the day HMQ invites David Cameron to form a new Government.  The updated scene between The Queen and David Cameron, played by Kristin Scott Thomas and Mark Dexter, will be performed for the first time at this evening's performance.

National Theatre Live has announced that Peter Morgan's The Audience, starring Academy Award winner Helen Mirren and directed by Stephen Daldry, will make a return to cinema screens around the world in select markets with encore screenings beginning Thursday, June 25. The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway announced the nominees this morning for the 2014-15 season. The first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season, the organization is celebrating its 64th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater. The Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, Internet, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

Creator Ray Davies joined the cast of Sunny Afternoon on stage this week to celebrate their quartet of Olivier Awards!

Peter Morgan's play THE AUDIENCE, which opened on Broadway on March 8th, has recouped the $3.4 million spent on production costs.

New hit British musical SUNNY AFTERNOON today announced new members of the cast to start from April 6 2015. Originating cast members will be joined by Jason Baughan in the role of Eddie Kassner and Jo Servi as Gregory Piven.

Casting for Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's 2015 production of J.M Barrie's Peter Pan has today been announced, with lead casting for The Seagull and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers also confirmed. The season opens for previews on 15 May.

Kristin Scott Thomas had a special meeting with Queen Elizabeth II this week when she was made a Dame. The actress is set to portray the British royal beginning next month in the West End production of THE AUDIENCE.

Thomas Hazelby, 10 years old from Doncaster, today (11 March 2015) joins the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical to play the title role. He becomes the fortieth boy to play the role in London, where in May the internationally award-winning musical celebrates its tenth anniversary. Also joining the cast today to play Billy's best friend Michael is 11 years old Nathan Jones from Prudhoe, Northumberland. Take a first look at the two (and more) in photos from the show below!
