Uranium Madhouse is ready to irradiate the Southern California theater scene. Theater director and acting teacher Andrew Utter announces the formation of his new Los Angeles theater company, Uranium Madhouse, inviting discerning theatergoers to "come in and melt down." Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that due to popular demand its acclaimed production of Three Pianos, written, arranged, and performed by Rick Burkhardt, Alec Duffy, and Dave Malloy, and directed by Rachel Chavkin, will extend one week through Sunday, January 16.

Thousands of people have already been entertained by the OBIE-winning, music-theatre hit Three Pianos (New York Theatre Workshop), the COIL 2011 (Performance Space 122) and the Under the Radar Festival (from The Public Theater, performed at, among other spaces, La Mama E.T.C. and Dixon Place). This weekend, all three will give their last performances.

No, that nice young man offering to pour you a glass of wine as you enter the New York Theatre Workshop's auditorium is not an intern or an Equity membership candidate earning weeks; it's one of the three madcap musicians who will be spending the next two hours trading punch lines, wheeling a trio of pianos around the stage and, somehow through it all, taking the inspiration for their antics from Franz Schubert's 1827 song cycle, Winterreise.
