Mad Cow Theatre Extends COLLECTED STORIES Through 7/21

Mad Cow Theatre is thrilled to announce the extension for Collected Stories by Donald Margulies and directed by Denise Gillman. The production is in Mad Cow's Black Box Theatre at 54 W. Church Street.

Byliner Publishes 99 STORIES OF GOD

Verdi's JERUSALEM and More Set for Sarasota Opera's 55th Season

Sarasota Opera has announced its 2013 - 2014 Fall and Winter programming which will mark the company's 55th consecutive season of performing grand opera on the Florida gulf coast. Highlights will include the return of some of Sarasota Opera's most acclaimed productions, the Sarasota Opera premiere of Verdi's Jerusalem as part of the ongoing Verdi Cycle, and the debut of new concerts to the Sarasota Opera Concert Series.

BREAKING BAD's Bryan Cranston to Star in A.R.T.'s ALL THE WAY; Full Cast Announced!

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced that three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston will play the lead role of Lyndon Baines Johnson in Robert Schenkkan's new play All The Way opening the A.R.T.'s 2013-14 Season at the Loeb Drama Center. The production, directed by Bill Rauch, will begin performances on September 13, 2013.

Sarasota Opera House to Open as a 'Donor Giving Station' for the 2013 36 Hour Giving Challenge

At 6:30am on Tuesday, March 5th, Sarasota Opera House will open as a "Donor Giving Station" to those wishing to give to the 2013 36 Hour Giving Challenge. Sarasota Opera will have three computer stations set up in the Opera House for those wanting to give during the Giving Challenge. Sarasota Opera staff will be on hand throughout the day to assist in any way necessary.

Sarasota Opera Appoints Richard Russell as New Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of Sarasota Opera has announced the appointment of Richard Russell as the new Executive Director of Sarasota Opera effective November 1, 2012. Mr. Russell, who was Sarasota Opera's Director of Marketing from 2005 - 2010, returns to Sarasota having served the past three seasons as General Director of Opera New Jersey in Princeton, NJ.

Harry Groener, Sally Wingert and More Set for CHRISTOPHER HAMPTON CELEBRATION at Guthrie Theatre, 9/15-10/27

The Guthrie Theater today announced the full casts, comprising 39 actors, for the three plays of the Christopher Hampton Celebration. EMI Classics Releases 'Fifty Shades of Grey - The Classical Album' Digitally Today, 8/21

EMI Classics will release Fifty Shades of Grey - The Classical Album, a 15-track album featuring classical music personally selected by author E L James herself and referenced in her bestselling Fifty Shades book trilogy. The album will be available in the U.S. and Canada digitally today, August 21st and in CD format on September 18th. The album will be released internationally in both formats on September 17th.

Final Week at Lincoln Center Out of Doors Features Tributes to Gil Scott-Heron, Nick Ashford and More thru 8/12

It may be the final week of Lincoln Center Out of Doors, but the festival isn't winding down when it comes to exciting performances. This week, Lincoln Center celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the landmark Soul at the Center, highlighted by Valerie Simpson's first tribute to her late partner, Nick Ashford, since his passing. The pair that wrote such Motown hits as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)," and "I'm Every Woman," made their performing debut as a duo at Lincoln Center 40 years ago. The Tribute takes place on Friday, August 10 at Damrosch Park.
