The New England Philharmonic, an award-winning Boston-based orchestra dedicated to 'Innovation and Tradition in Concert,' will begin its 46th season this fall under the leadership of a new Music Director, Tianhui Ng.

On Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 8:00pm, composer Eric Nathan will make his Boston orchestral conducting debut leading the New England Philharmonic in their season opening concert at All Saints Parish.

'There's dreadful news from the symphony hall-the composer is dead!' That's how Lemony Snicket's adventurous whodunit, 'The Composer Is Dead,' begins. The New England Philharmonic (NEP), under the direction of Richard Pittman, will perform Nathaniel Stookey's 2006 work of the same name (created as a CD companion to the book) on December 10 at the Tsai Performance Center for their annual family concert.

The New England Philharmonic, under the direction of Richard Pittman, will step up their commitment to commission and perform new works by regionally based composers during the 2017-18 season.

The New England Philharmonic under the direction of Richard Pittman is now accepting scores for their 31st Annual Call for Scores Competition. The winning score will be performed by the NEP during the 2016-17 season.

The New England Philharmonic (NEP) is now accepting applications for the 21st  Annual Young Artist Competition. The winner will perform with the NEP at their annual family concert "Musical Characters," on December 13th at the Tsai Performance Center. The concert will include John Harbison's  "Remembering Gatsby," George Antheil's  "Tom Sawyer," and Rob Kapilow's  "Elijah's Angel" featuring soloists Sarah Pelletier, soprano, David Kravitz, baritone, and Dana Whiteside, baritone as well as the Boston City Singers, Jane Money, Director.

The New England Philharmonic (NEP) has selected "Spectre of the Spheres" by David Hertzberg, winner of their 30th annual Call for Scores. The composition will receive its Boston premiere by the NEP under the direction of Richard Pittman at their April 30, 2016 concert. The concert will also feature the world premiere of an NEP commission from David Rawkowski, Symphony No. 6,  Alban Berg's  Violin Concerto ("To the Memory of an Angel") featuring soloist, Danielle Maddon and Jean Sibelius' "The Oceanides." 19 American orchestras will be recognized with 2012-13 ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming today at the League of American Orchestras' 68th National Conference in St. Louis. ASCAP and the League present the awards each year to orchestras of all sizes for programs that challenge the audience, build the repertoire, and increase interest in music of our time. Approximately $725,000 has been bestowed on orchestras since the awards were established in 1947.
