The South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival will get the state's art started tomorrow (August 1) when it officially opens for its milestone 20th year, presenting the works of a record breaking 6282 artists in 660 free exhibitions across Adelaide and regions throughout August.

A widowed New York college professor, Gene, is in a long distance relationship with a woman in California. He wants to marry and move to California, where his girlfriend has her medical practice and is raising her children. Gene's mother is sympathetic although aware of the toll it could take on his father. Family tensions arise as his father disowned his sister for marrying a Jewish man. When his mother suddenly dies, Gene's plans are thrown into disarray. He has lived in the shadow of his towering father, who is expecting him to stay and watch over him. Gene must decide for himself if he'll stay to care for his father or finally move on with his life.
"The Journals of Osborne P. Anderson" performs at Theatre/Theater, 5041 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90010 and runs thru June 28th. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
The University of Adelaide Theatre Guild has turned, once again, to the multi-award winning director, Megan Dansie, to tackle Shakespeare's comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.
The Adelaide Repertory Theatre Society, who operate at their own ARTS Theatre, are ending their year on a light, fun note with a melodrama last performed in Adelaide in 1988, The Mystery of the Hansom Cab.
