Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) opens its 56th season with the wildly theatrical homage to the films of Alfred Hitchcock, THE 39 STEPS. Directed by Michael Ross, who returns to CCCT after his 2014 smash-hit production of Spamalot, THE 39 STEPS plays from September 25 through October 18. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm at the theatre.

Yesterday was Alfred Hitchcock's 116th birthday. The company of 39 Steps celebrated the Master of Suspense's birthday by launching a daily in-person lottery at the Union Square Theatre and by bringing out a specially designed cake by Cake Alchemy during the curtain call. On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Lakewood Theatre Company/Lakewood Center for the Arts held its annual meeting and OTAS (Oregon Theatrical Awards Society) presentation at the Lakewood Center to celebrate the closing of its 62nd season of plays and its 44th annual OTAS Awards. Emcee for the evening was Alan Shearman, a frequent Lakewood stage director and past OTAS award winner and upcoming director of Lakewood's 2015/16 season production of Bullshot Crummond: The Evil Eye of Jabar and the Invisible Bride of Death.
39 Steps opened to rave reviews on April 13, 2015 at the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street), featuring original Broadway cast member Arnie Burton reprising his role of Clown #2, Billy Carter as Clown #1, recent Juilliard grad Brittany Vicars as Pamela/Annabella/Margaret, and Broadway vet Robert Petkoff as the dashing hero Richard Hannay.
