To mark the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, artists across the world are celebrating his music with wide-ranging performances and projects—from Jonathan Biss's immersion in the composer's piano sonatas, to Stephen Hough's recording of the five piano concertos, to the Miró Quartet's surveys of the complete string quartets in concert and on recording. Even beyond cycles and series, the number of individual Beethoven performances expands next season in celebration of the anniversary. Boston Court Pasadena continues its mission of fostering new musical talent with the 3rd Annual Emerging Artists Series, May 30 June 9, 2019. The series will feature up-and-coming pianists, as well as vocalists who have been through a rigorous mentoring curriculum with some of Los Angeles' most prominent musicians and coaches including Mark Robson, Gloria Cheng, Lisa Sylvester, Vicki Ray, Brent McMunn and Paul Floyd.
American Classical Orchestra (ACO) concludes its season at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 8:00pm with Eroica, led by Music Director and ACO founder Thomas Crawford. The performance features Beethoven's monumental Symphony No. 3, “Eroica,” preceded by his Coriolan Overture, Op. 62. The evening begins at 8pm with ACO's unique concert preview, including musical and historical context from Maestro Crawford, illustrated by the full orchestra playing excerpts from the works on the program.

Society for the Performing Arts (SPA) will present the 2017 Cliburn Gold Medalist, Yekwon Sunwoo, on Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center. Sunwoo will mesmerize the audience with a delightful evening of pieces from Schumann, Liszt and Schubert.
Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) Music Director Designate Jaime Martin makes his only appearance this season on LACO's Orchestral Series when he conducts the West Coast premiere of the LACO-co-commissioned song cycle Voy a Dormir by Bryce Dessner, known to many as a guitarist with Grammy Award-winning alternative rock band The National and one of the most sought-after composers of his generation, on Saturday, April 27, 8 pm, at the Alex Theatre, and Sunday, April 28, 2019, 7 pm, at Royce Hall. Dessner's work was written for and features Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor, who is also spotlighted in Mozart's Requiem with soprano Sarah Shafer, tenor Thomas Cooley, bass Dashon Burton and the USC Thornton Chamber Singers. Martin begins his tenure with LACO in the 2019-20 season.
The ASPECT Foundation for Music & Arts continues its third New York City season of illuminating performances with Archduke Rudolf: Beethoven's Pupil and Patron on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 7:30pm at Bohemian National Hall. Russian-American pianist and conductor Ignat Solzhenitsyn is joined by violinist Korbinian Altenberger and cellist Na-Young Baek for a program of works Beethoven dedicated to his most significant patron and composition student, Archduke Rudolf of Austria: the Violin Sonata No.10 in G major, Op.96 and Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 97 “Archduke.”
It has been announced that Daniel Kellogg will become the President of Young Concert Artists, effective July 1, 2019. This follows the incredible 58-year-tenure of Founder and current Director, Susan Wadsworth, who will continue as Creative Consultant through 2020-2021 helping to plan the 60th Anniversary of Young Concert Artists.

Nonesuch and New Amsterdam Records have joined forces to release approximately three albums per year over an initial three-year period. This partnership is the result of conversations between the two New York-based labels about their long-term shared values to support the work of several generations of American composers, with the intention of enabling those artists to realize creative ambitions that might not otherwise be achievable. The collaboration reflects the fifty-four-year-old Nonesuch's legacy and the accomplishments of the ten-year-old New Amsterdam, combining their resources in order to share newly-recorded music with a wider audience.

The Community Arts Music Association (CAMA) of Santa Barbara will present a free community concert featuring renowned mandolin soloist Avi Avital and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra performing works by Italian Baroque master Antonio Vivaldi at The Granada Theatre today, December 11. Beginning at 8 pm, the performance will include Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Violins in G Minor, his Concerto for Two Violins in A Minor, and The Four Seasons, his beloved collection of violin concerti. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Today, November 17, 2018 at 8:00pm at Alice Tully Hall, American Classical Orchestra (ACO) presents Imperial Haydn with guest soloist Aisslinn Nosky (violin) and ACO principals Marc Schachman (oboe), Andrew Schwartz (bassoon), and Myron Lutzke (cello). Along with Haydn's 'L'Imperiale' (No. 53), the program also features his Sinfonia Concertante in B-flat major and a rare performance of Kalliwoda's Symphony No. 5 in B minor.
