Classic Stage Company has announced that Marcel Spears is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant.

Broadwayworld.com had the opportunity to interview Robert Lyons, Artistic Director of the New Ohio Theatre in New York City about his career, the theatre and the Archive Residency.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Roger Rees is currently on leave from The Visit, and in his place, Tom Nelis is temporarily stepping in as Anton Schell. No word yet on the duration of the hiatus. Of note, the star has also been swapped out for Nelis on the show's official web site. Tony Torn (Karen Coonrad's The Tempest, Jay Scheib's The Disinherited, Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's on Broadway) joins the cast of The Velvet Oratorio, an original opera/theater piece commemorating the 25th anniversary of The Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia. The show will be presented in the grand ballroom at the current home of the Czech Center and the Czech Consulate: The Bohemian National Hall. The Velvet Oratorio is an evocative retelling of the Velvet Revolution through found text, choral music, and scenes inspired by Vaclav Havel's Van?k plays. Torn will be playing a secret service officer who interrogates Van?k but later disclaims his Communist past.

Primary Stages has launched the Primary Stages Off-Broadway Oral History Project, a new endeavor to capture the oral history of the New York Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway theatre movement through the first-hand accounts of the pioneers who created it.

The multidisciplinary performance ensemble Live Source presents the world-premiere adaptation of BOHEMIAN LIGHTS, based on Ramon Valle-Inclan's 'Luces de Bohemia,' adapted by Live Source with Fernando Gonzalez. Directed by Tyler Mercer, BOHEMIAN LIGHTS begins performances on Friday, November 7, 2014 -- prior to an official press opening of November 9th -- at HERE Arts Center (145 Sixth Avenue - enter on Dominick, 1 block south of Spring, in Manhattan).
