Benny Andersson and Bj?rn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! will end its record-breaking engagement at Mandalay Bay Theatre this Sunday, January 4, 2009. After nearly six years on The Las Vegas Strip, MAMMA MIA! set the precedent for musicals in Las Vegas celebrating more than 2,200 performances and 2 million guests.

Kevin Spacey Directs World Premiere of COMPLICIT for Old Vic's 2009 Season

The Old Vic announced a new line up of productions for 2009 that will begin in January with the World Premiere of the new play, COMPLICIT by Joe Sutton and directed in-the-round by Kevin Spacey. The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center has acquired the papers of renowned performers and acting teachers Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof. The collection consists of thousands of pages of unpublished correspondence, diaries, scripts and manuscripts, photographs, clippings and other documentation relating to the dynamic theatrical careers of both Hagen and Berghof. This collection of professional and personal papers, spanning nearly 100 years of theater history, is being made public for the first time. To celebrate the bequest, the Library is planning a series of eight free public programs featuring many close friends and colleagues of Ms. Hagen and Mr. Berghof's including such figures as Harold Prince, Edward Albee, David Hyde Pierce and Eli Wallach. Programs take place in the Bruno Walter Auditorium in The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue (between 64th and 65th streets). On September 4th, 2008 MAMMA MIA! became the sixteenth longest running show in Broadway history, surpassing Hello Dolly! Nearly seven years after opening at the Winter Garden Theatre, MAMMA MIA! has remained in the Million Dollar Club, and among Broadway top five selling musicals for the past seven consecutive weeks, a landmark not achieved since 2002.

Featuring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan singing the hits of super group ABBA, the CD is also #1 on the Billboard Soundtrack Chart for the fourth consecutive week, and has been the top selling album on iTunes for three consecutive weeks.

Easton and Ivey Star In 'Home' At Williamstown Starting 8/13

The Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced the full casting for Home by David Storey. Joining the previously announced Richard Easton (Tony Award - Invention of Love, Noises Off) and Dana Ivey (Tony Nominations - The Rivals, Butley) are Philip Goodwin (Tartuffe), Roberta Maxwell (Othello, Merchant of Venice) and C.J. Wilson (Festen, Long Day's Journey into Night). Directed by Tony Award-winner Joseph Hardy (Child's Play), Home will play the Main Stage from August 13-24, 2008 and marks the final Main Stage production of WTF's 2008 season.
