After enjoying its World Premiere engagement earlier this spring at the Playroom Theater, A Class Act, the inaugural and relevant new play by attorney and playwright Norman Shabel, will now hold court at New World Stages  - Stage 5(340 West 50th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues) for a summer run.  Produced by Eric Krebs, performances will begin on Saturday, July 9 at 8pm and continue through Sunday, September 4.

George Takei, who recently starred in the Broadway musical Allegiance, has been cast as 'Reciter' in Classic Stage Company's upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's PACIFIC OVERTURES, to be directed by Tony Award winner (and 2016 Tony Award nominee) John Doyle, who this season takes the reins as Artistic Director of the vital East Village theater company.

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre in July of 2017! Performances begin on Friday, July 28 and run through Sunday, July 30 at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, 527 North Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63103.

Classic Stage Company has announced that Mirirai Sithole is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant. The Fund was established in 2010 with the mission to assist young actors who have appeared at CSC and who have recently made the transition from their training into the profession. The $3,000 grant can be used by the young artist to continue training or to offset loans they may have incurred while studying their craft. With the grant, CSC hopes to make a difference in the lives of young actors at the start of their careers as well as to heighten awareness in the community to the specific needs of actors.

Michael C. Hall will headline a one-night night only reading of Will Eno's play GNIT, adapted from Henrik Ibsen's PEER GYNT Monday evening, June 20 at 7 pm at CSC (136 East 13th Street) as part of the theater's FIRST LOOK FESTIVAL IBSEN, presented in conjunction with the company current production of PEER GYNT, directed by John Doyle and runs through this Sunday, June 19.

MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will hold an open call casting search for the roles of Donna and Sam as it embarks on its National Farewell Tour. If you love ABBA and travel (and sequins!) then 'take a chance' to join the cast of MAMMA MIA! as the show hits the road one final time.

Broadway In Boston announced today that Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will return to Boston for one week only. Performances at the Boston Opera House May 30 - June 4, 2017. MAMMA MIA! is a Season special and part of the 2016/2017 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.

Today Richard East and Dennis Smith the Producers of Georgy Girl - the Seekers Musical confirmed that Georgy Girl will not be playing in Brisbane during the current Australian tour. 

There's a lot to learn about the two actors - Kyra Belle Johnson, who's cast as Sophie, and Stephen Ecklemann, who takes on the role of her boyfriend Sky - playing the young leads in Mamma Mia!, the ABBA-inspired musical that lands at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center next Today night for an eight-performance run.

Linzi Hateley returns to the role of Donna Sheridan in the global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! at London's Novello Theatre from Monday 13 June 2016.  This is a role she has played twice before in London - from 2007-2009 and in 2010.  Her other recent theatre credits include the national tour of Barnum, London Road (National Theatre) and Les Miserables (Queen's Theatre).  Linzi also appeared in the film version of London Road.

The women took the center stage last night at The Ladies Who Sing Sondheim- a gala benefit for Off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company. The evening was and directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, who will become the company's new Artistic Director in July.  The evening included performances from Sondheim's canon by Patti LuPone (Gypsy), Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple), Joaquina Kalukango (The Color Purple), Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, CSC's Passion), Marin Mazzie (Kiss Me, Kate) and Alexandra Silber(Fiddler on the Roof). Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone is among the star-studded Broadway roster for The Ladies Who Sing Sondheim, a gala benefit for Off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company tonight, March 14 at Alice Tully Hall (1941 Broadway), hosted and directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, who will become the company's new Artistic Director in July.

Off-Broadway's acclaimed Classic Stage Company today announced plans for its 2016-17 season, led by incoming Artistic Director John Doyle and Managing Director Jeff Griffin. Doyle, a Tony Award winner for Sweeney Todd and the director of Broadway's highly-praised new production of The Color Purple, assumes the artistic leadership of CSC beginning in July, succeeding Brian Kulick, who has led the company since 2003. For CSC, Doyle has directed Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Allegro, and later this season will direct Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt.
