Well it may have been hotter than blazes this past weekend but I managed to spend the weekend inside at one of my favorite events of the year, The Village Theatre Village Originals Festival of New Musicals. They presented concert stagings of five musicals still in the works. It's a great opportunity for the authors to get to see their shows in front of an audience and for us to get a sneak peak at amazing musical theater to come. Now as they are still being workshopped I can't really review any of them but I can tell you what I saw.

Village Theatre kicks off its 16th Annual Festival of New Musicals with COST OF LIVING BY  Timothy Huang, taking place in Issaquah on August 12-14, 2016. It will be the first Festival of New Musicals led by newly appointed Associate Artistic Director Brandon Ivie.  BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at a photo from rehearsal below! 

Arden Theatre Company hosts its Master Storyteller Award ceremony and concert tonight, June 1, 2015. The award will be bestowed upon Composer and Lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who will accept the award at a ticketed ceremony and concert, which is a fundraising benefit for the Arden's extensive educational and outreach programs. Composer and Lyricist Jason Robert Brown will present Mr. Sondheim with the award.

'No Ordinary Marriage' - Jim attempts to track down some elusive bank robbers, Stephanie looks into discovering the source of the family's newly acquired powers, and Daphne, trying to find a way keep the voices in her head from drowning out her ability to read minds, discovers that JJ has become a super genius but is hiding it from the family. Meanwhile Jim and Stephanie not only keep their powers a secret from the world but from each other too, as Stephanie discovers Jim has become a crime fighter and Jim finds out that Stephanie has used her new power of speed -- after promising not to -- on 'No Ordinary Family,' TUESDAY, DECEMBER 28 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
