The box office of the newly renovated Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) opened yesterday, November 25, 2013, for The Bridges of Madison County, which will begin performances on Friday, January 17, 2014. The opening night is set for Thursday, February 27, 2014. Rehearsals will begin Monday, December 9, 2013. In celebration of the opening, customers who visited the box office between 10AM and 11AM were entered to win a special, grand prize - an original love song, written and performed by Jason Robert Brown. Primary Stages last night held their annual Gala on Wednesday at The Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47th Street). The event, which honored Tony Award winner Tyne Daly (Master Class, Rabbit Hole, Gypsy), and producers and Primary Stages Board members Jamie deRoy and Ted Snowdon, featured performances by Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair), actor/director/producer Tamara Tunie ("Law & Order: SVU," "As The World Turns"), Lewis Cleale (The Book of Mormon, Spamalot, Call Me Madam), and Garrett Sorenson (Master Class). Primary Stages launched its 28th season with Harrison,TX: Three Plays by Horton Foote. Opening night was last night, August 14. Tony Award nominees HAllie Foote (Dividing the Estate, The Orphans' Home Cycle) and Jayne Houdyshell (Follies, Well) will head up an ensemble featuring Devon Abner (Dividing the Estate, The Orphans' Home Cycle), Mary Bacon (Motherhood Out Loud, Happy Now?) Last night, September 23, the stars of Memphis were honored with a Wall of Fame painting at Tony di Napoli's restaurant to kick off the new Broadway season and celebrate the cast's one year anniversary on Broadway. The painting was created by Dan May. Valerie Smaldone produced and emceed the event, which was hosted by Tony di Napoli's Bruce Dimpflmaier.

There was a lot of purple hair and glitter in the house when Scott Mason, a Dame Edna look-a-like from Delaware, was named the Dame's Honorary Understudy Wednesday morning at Henry Miller's Theatre.
