Guests included Austin Pendleton (who will toast Olympia), John Patrick Shanley, Matt Dillon, among others.

La MaMa Opens 53rd Season with TEMPEST 3, Begin. 10/2

La MaMa - the world-renowned theatre complex in the heart of New York City's East Village - today announced the cast for its first production of its 53rd Season entitled "LA MAMA EARTH," featuring works that raise awareness of world ecology and social justice both locally and globally. The centerpiece will be three diverse, international productions and adaptations of William Shakepeare's The Tempest from the US, Korea and Italy. All performances will be at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 East 4th Street, between Bowery & 2nd Avenue).

Reg E. Cathey Joins Cast of EXODUS, Playing Fraunces Tavern Museum Flag Gallery Today

REG E. CATHEY (House of Cards, The Wire) joins the cast of EXODUS: DREAMS OF THE PROMISED LAND IN ANTEBELLUM AMERICA, playing multiple roles including Solomon Northrup (Twelve Years a Slave) and the Abolitionist Frederick Douglass. The cast also includes ROSALYN COLEMAN WILLIAMS (The Mountaintop, Seven Guitars, The Piano Lesson) in multiple roles including Elizabeth Keckley (familiar to audiences from the movie Lincoln), JENNIFER RAU as Abolitionist Angelina Grimke, and the noted vocal ensemble THE WESTERN WIND. Conceived by Salon/Sanctuary's Founding Artistic Director Jessica Gould to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, EXODUS was originally presented last year in a sold-out performance staged at the historic Fraunces Tavern, the oldest structure in Manhattan.

My Last Day Without You, an award winning romantic drama directed by Stefan Schaefer will release theatrically in AMC Theatres in Washington DC, Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago and New Orleans today, October 4 th. The film stars Nicole Beharie (42, Shame) lead of the upcoming much-anticipated FOX series 'Sleepy Hollow.'

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes the return of The Directors Company with the New York premiere of JERICHO, written by Jack Canfora and directed by Evan Bergman. JERICHO begins performances on Friday, October 4 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Press opening is Thursday, October 10 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM.
