Manatee Players Perform GUYS AND DOLLS, 2/17-3/6

The popular hit musical GUYS AND DOLLS opens at the Manatee Players on February 17 and plays through March 6. Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 including facility fee for adults and $11 including facility fee for students. Tickets may be reserved by calling 748-5875 Monday - Friday from 9-5 and one hour before curtain on performance days or on the Manatee Players' website: www.manateeplayers.com. All performances are at 102 Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton.

The Metropolitan Opera's 2011-12 season will feature the world's leading singers, conductors, and stage directors in seven new productions, including a world premiere, a Met premiere, and the first complete performances of a new Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle conducted by Music Director James Levine and directed by Robert Lepage.

Suspended Cirque has taken trapeeze performance and integrated it with acrobatics, music, dance, theater, and circus to create a new blend of entrancing entertainment. With Swingin' At Jacks, the group time-travels back to 1949, taking the audience with them to Jack's Place which is, of course, the hottest spot in town.

As previously reported, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical will celebrate a year in the West End on 23 March 2010 having completed over 425 performances at the Palace Theatre since its opening last year. From 8 March Jason Donovan (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam) will be joined by Don Gallagher as Bernadette, as booking for the show extends until 26 February 2011. Over the summer (6 June - 5 September 2010) there will be Sunday performances of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical at 3pm. The show is reportedly Broadway-bound thereafter in 2011.

Nicola and Acting Managing Director Fred Walker have announced that the final event in NYTW's special series of twenty-fifth anniversary public programs will be 'Two-and-a-Half Decades of Serving the Artist (Part II),' a discussion exploring the 'workshop' component of the theatre's activities on Monday, March 12 at 7:30pm - 9:00pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery.

NY Theatre Workshop Announces Faulkner's 'Sound'

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Acting Managing Director Fred Walker have announced that The Sound and The Fury (April Seventh, 1928), based on part one of the novel by William Faulkner, created by Elevator Repair Service (ERS), and directed by John Collins, will begin performances Tuesday, April 15, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00pm. The production will run through May 18.
