Jason Robert Brown's THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY Musical to Open at Schoenfeld Theatre in February 2014

The Bridges of Madison County, a new musical, based on the best selling novel by Robert James Waller, will begin performances on Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street), with an opening night late February 2014. This story about a devoted Iowa housewife and her unlikely love affair with a National Geographic photographer has inspired seven of the theater's most distinguished artists to create a new Broadway musical.

New Work at RMTC Commemorates Civil Rights Movement, 4/11-14

Red Mountain Theatre Company will bring The MLK Project to stage April 11-14, 2013, as part of the 50th Anniversary commemoration of the Civil Rights Movement. This new work is a collaboration with the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and stars RMTC favorite Cecil Washington (The Color Purple, Rent).

RMTC Hosts National Search for “The MLK Project” - Submissions Due Today, 9/1

Red Mountain Theatre Company (Birmingham, AL) and its Executive Director Keith Cromwell, in collaboration with Lee Sentell (Alabama Tourism Director) and Dr. Lawrence J. Pijeaux (President and CEO of Birmingham Civil Rights Institute) are hosting a national search for a one-act written piece to be produced in honor of the 50th Anniversary commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s historic "Letter from a Birmingham Jail."

LEGALLY BLONDE Starring Bailey Hanks Opens 7/12 at Virginia Samford Theatre

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, renowned 'Elle Woods,' Bailey Hanks, is set to lead Red Mountain Theater Company's production of LEGALLY BLONDE. The show opens this Thursday, 7/12, at 7:30 PM. The show runs from July 12-August 5 at the Virginia Samford Theatre.

Panelists Announced for ANMT's Musical Theatre Writers Conference 2012, 7/20-22

The Fourth Bi-Annual conference for musical theatre writers and composers is coming to Los Angeles, July 20-22 at the NoHo Arts Center in North Hollywood, CA. Confirmed panelists include: Cheri Steinkellner (the Tony Award-nominated writer of Sister Act), Paul Gordon (Tony Award-nominated lyricist/composer of Jane Eyre); Michael Jung (Disney Theatricals); Michael Shapiro (Kensington Entertainment), Michael Kerker (ASCAP Director of Musical Theatre); David Elzer (award-winning producer of The Marvelous Wonderettes); Tim Dang (Producing Artistic Director of East West Players, the nation's premiere Asian American theatre company); Gordon Firemark (CEO of Fierce Theatricals) and more!
