American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School at Segerstrom Center for the Arts Presents Teacher Training Intensive in ABT National Curriculum in April 2016

Segerstrom Center's American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School will hold a Teacher Training Intensive in ABT's National Training Curriculum April 2 - 10, 2016. The training will cover teaching methodology for Pre-Primary through Level 3. The seminars will be held in the Center's Judy Morr Theater and will be taught by ABT National Training Curriculum Artistic Director and author, Raymond Lukens. ABT Gillespie School faculty and students will demonstrate techniques. Registration begins December 1 at ABT.org. ABT William J. Gillespie School Offers Fall 2015 Classes at Segerstrom Center

Segerstrom Center for the Arts has announced the faculty for its American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School that begins its full 36-week school year on September 14, 2015 and runs through June 11, 2016. The Center has added classes to accommodate the growing enrollment.

ABT Studio Company and JKO School Perform at Pace This Weekend

American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company and the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School will appear at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at PACE University in New York City, this weekend, March 13 – 14, 2015. The Studio Company will give one performance today, March 13 at 7:30 PM and the ABT JKO School will give two performances on Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.

YAGP to Present THE MAKING OF AN ARTIST, 1/27

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) will present "The Making of an Artist" moderated by Barbara Brandt on Monday January 27 at 6:30pm at New York City Center Studios, Studio 5 (130 West 56th Street, NYC). American Ballet Theatre's Marcelo Gomes will create new choreography on renowned ABT dancers Misty Copeland and James Whiteside live. Through discussion and demonstration, their creative evolution will unfold. YAGP founding Board Chair, Barbara Brandt says, "I want to give the audience an opportunity to join the dancers and choreographer, in the studio, as we explore the question, "What is an artist?" The evening will conclude with an informal reception.

Intermezzo Dance Company Kicks Off Debut Performance Season Tonight

INTERMEZZO Dance Company, a new ballet company founded by American Ballet Theatre soloist Craig Salstein, announces its debut performance season. Performances will take place from tonight, October 18-20, 2013 at 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, 1395 Lexington Avenue (between 91st and 92nd Streets), NYC.

Bebe Neuwirth, Ellen Greene & More Set for Uptown Downtown Benefit, 10/14

Mikhail Baryshnikov serves as the Honorary Chairman for Uptown Downtown, a special one-night-only extravaganza to benefit the Abrons Arts Center on October 14. Bringing together the brightest lights of New York City's uptown and downtown performance scenes, the evening will feature Kyle Abraham, Joey Arias, Jack Ferver + James Whiteside, Ellen Greene, Robert La Fosse, Bebe Neuwirth, Philippe Petit, and other special guests. Lance Horne serves as Musical Director.

Intermezzo Dance Company Announces Debut Performance Season, 10/18-20

INTERMEZZO Dance Company, a new ballet company founded by American Ballet Theatre soloist Craig Salstein, announces its debut performance season. Performances will take place from October 18-20, 2013 at 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, 1395 Lexington Avenue (between 91st and 92nd Streets), NYC. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.92Y.org/dance or 212.415.5500. Performance schedule: Friday at 8pm,Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm. In addition, Intermezzo will show excerpts of new works and participate in a Q&A as part of 92Y's informal Fridays at Noon program on the 18th ($5).

RHYTHM ON THE RIVER and More Set for BalletMet's 2013 Summer Season

The 2012-2013 season at BalletMet isn't over just yet. As we head into spring and summer, the dancing continues with summer dance camps, opportunities for learning and enrichment, and the summer-ending free performance at Bicentennial Park by the talented dancers of BalletMet.

ABT's 2013 Spring Season Begins at the Met Opera House Tonight

Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2013 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was recently announced by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The season will begin tonight, Monday, May 13 at 6:30 P.M. with the Company's Opening Night Gala, featuring a piece d'occasion choreographed by Marcelo Gomes, set to the second movement of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony and danced by Julie Kent and Roberto Bolle.

Hartt Community Division Presents Ballet SNOW WHITE in June

The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) presents Snow White Friday, June 14, at 7:00 PM; Saturday, June 15, at 7:00 PM; and Sunday, June 16, at 2:00 PM. All performances are held in Millard Auditorium at the University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Tickets will be made available to the public on April 20, 2013. Please call the University Box Office at 860.768.4228 or 800.274.8587, or visit hcd.hartford.edu, to purchase tickets. Admission to each performance is $30 for adults; $15 for children 12 and under; and $20 for students and senior citizens with ID.
