The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. to Present OUR VOICES, OUR TIME at Cherry Lane Theatre This Fall

From October 19 to November 6 at Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will present 'Our Voices, Our Time,' a program of three one-acts that have been co-commissioned by Penn Live Arts at the University of Pennsylvania.

These plays illuminate burning issues of their time and are newly instructive today.

JAG Productions has announced the full casting for their upcoming production of August Wilson's Pulitzer-Prize winning play Fences at Woodstock Town Hall Theatre in Woodstock, VT. Fences, directed by Jarvis Antonio Green (JAG Productions: Choir Boy), will run from April 27 through May 7.

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre will continue its 46th season dedicated to Amira Baraka with the world premiere of his final play, The Most Dangerous Man In America (W. E. B. Du Bois). Performances began May 28th, with opening night set for tonight, June 11th at the Castillo Theater (543 West 42nd Street). The National Black Touring Circuit kicked off the Black History Month Play Festival 2013 with a special press reception in Harlem on Saturday, February 2 that featured a discussion by acclaimed poet and author Amiri Baraka on "The Meaning of Black History" and a performance by Timothy Simonson portraying Harlem legend Adam Clayton Powell from the play Adam.
